Pregnant Blake Lively & Martha Stewart All Smiles For Summit After Feud Speculation (PHOTOS)
Blake Lively and Martha Stewart sat down for a panel chat at the American Made Summit in New York on Saturday, showing that tabloid speculation about their friendship being kaput after Stewart made comments about Lively’s new lifestyle platform Preserve was mostly hot air.
The actress, who is expecting her first child with husband Ryan Reynolds, showed off her baby bump while on stage with Stewart, who was quoted over the summer as saying of Lively’s foray into lifestyle media, “It’s stupid, she could be an actress! Why would you want to be me if you could be an actress?” A number of outlets misrepresented Stewart’s words as some kind of major diss toward Lively. In reality, the two women are very friendly.
Lively and Stewart are neighbors in upstate New York, and Stewart made quite an impression on Reynolds when they first met. Lively told the audience, “When we met Martha, Martha goes, ‘I know how to ride motorcycles. I will ride with you, Ryan.’ Martha is the only woman that can creep up on my man!”
As for her new company, Lively explained, “I want to create my own career and I want to create my own world. That’s part of the reason I created Preserve: I needed a world that is my own and I am in charge of that success or failure at the end of the day.” Reynolds has more to do with the website than people may suspect. “He is probably more involved than he wants to be,” joked Lively.
