“Black Annie” Remake Mocked On SNL – WATCH VIDEO
The upcoming Annie remake, starring “SNL” host Cameron Diaz, was spoofed on the sketch comedy show. The new Annie film, which hits theaters on December 19, stars Quvenzhane Wallis as the title character and Jamie Foxx as Daddy Warbucks. And Diaz plays the evil Miss Hannigan, who runs the orphanage.
In the “SNL” parody, which started with the girls singing “It’s A Hard Knock Life,” “Foxx” comes to the orphanage looking for Annie, but when he’s presented with a white Annie (played by Vanessa Bayer), he says, “I want the black Annie,” to which Bayer responds, “Yo, yo, yo, What up, playa?” That’s when the six-foot-plus Leslie Jones walked in in the iconic red dress and with curly red hair, and says, “What’s up… Annie in the house.”
“Black Annie” (Jones) then explains that her parents are Wyclef Jean and Bonnie Raitt, explaining the red hair. She further tells her prospective adoptive dad that she’s 43, but can “still go all night.” Annie notes that she’s not only an orphan, but she’s also a veteran and played half a season in the WNBA. At that point, Bayer chimed in about how “Black Annie” had already lived a full life, prompting Jones to say, “I will slap you right now, White Annie.”
Jones went on to tell Daddy Warbucks that she also had three kids of her own that she’d like him to adopt, but he decided she was better suited to be his personal security guard. The other orphans then began to sing “Tomorrow,” but Jones yelled at them, “This is not about you orphan bitches, it’s about Black Annie.” Check out the video below, and tell us what you think.
