Billy Ray Cyrus watched the video of his daughter Miley Cyrus smoking a bong at a party in Los Angeles shortly after her 18th birthday, and he’s not happy.

The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer tweeted, “Sorry guys. I had no idea. Just saw this stuff for the first time myself. Im so sad. There is much beyond my control right now.”

As Gossip Cop reported, Miley Cyrus can be seen in the video taking a hit of the substance salvia, which is a natural herb psychedelic, yet legal in California and most other states.

LEAVE HER ALONE, and now what happened? you are talking like you know exactly what the future holds if she was left alone. i guess you are a big fan and will just support her, actually we are on the same page. but as a parent he should have guided her closely. yeah, he failed and there’s nothing he can do about now she’s 18 and believes she can do whatever she wants. i am disappointed because i like her but let’s not delude ourselves that one day she will be following lilo’s footsteps. sorry, jmho

    I agree completely with stelange. Look at the type of upbringing she had. Instead of sheltering her from the business, her father THREW her in it; and then walked away. She was MUCH too young to become a star when she did. She had no moral guidance from her parents. Her father did this to her. Being in the business, he should have KNOWN BETTER! he should have guided her, persuaded her AWAY from the industry. Instead, he threw her to the wolves. No boundaries, no guidance, stardom and fame at an extremely young age, famous father – recipe for disaster. If he had been a proper father to her, this wouldn’t have happened. He did this to her.

    “There is much beyond my control”. What does he really mean ? A parent is always a parent. It’s never to late to advise your children. She is only 18. She needs lots of advice. Somebody better catch her before it’s too late. There are pushers out there waiting for her. Once you start with them, it’s hard to get rid of them. Also, she better check who her friends are. It’s hard to trust people these days. I am sure that she didn’t want any of this kind of publicity.

    He should have stepped in when she was 16 and had the website with her 21 year old friend. He should have stepped in when she took the topless photos in Vanity fair. He has missed his window to give her direction. she is trying to have an adult career and lose the teenie bopper image. She is doing a good job of that, but I am not sure if she can sell her grown up image to real grown ups.

    idk why anyone is complaining…that is legal in California…so she’s not going against the law but stupid her for not realizing someone was bound to show the world, she isn’t ‘Hannah Montana’ anymore

    Salvia is legal! Even though I find Miley icky, she has a right to have legal fun. Her dad seems like an uptight jerk.
