‘Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk’ Trailer: Kristen Stewart, Vin Diesel Star In War Drama
The first trailer for Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, the upcoming war drama featuring an all-star cast including Kristen Stewart and Vin Diesel, has just been released online. Watch the teaser below!
Directed by Ang Lee (Life of Pi, Brokeback Mountain) and based on the acclaimed, bestselling novel, the film tells the story of a group of soldiers who return home from Iraq for a victory tour at their town’s Thanksgiving Day football game halftime show. But through flashbacks, it’s revealed that the realities the men faced in war weren’t as triumphant as their friend’s and family’s perceptions.
“To walk the path of a hero, you have to see how it all began,” reads a title card at the beginning of the preview, which is set to Alesso’s somber cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes (We Could Be).” Stewart co-stars as the older sister of the film’s main character, Billy Lynn, who’s played by newcomer Joe Alwyn. The film also stars Diesel and Garrett Hedlund as members of Lynn’s squad, Chris Tucker as a movie producer and Steve Martin as the owner of an NFL team.
Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk hits theaters on November 11, which just so happens to be Veterans Day. Watch the intense first trailer below.
