Billy Bush “Dancing With The Stars” Claim Is Late And Wrong
Billy Bush is not in talks to join “Dancing with the Stars,” despite a report that’s both late and wrong. Gossip Cop can again debunk the speculation.
The new story comes from HollywoodLife, which writes, “Billy Bush could be returning to TV! Although the former co-host of ‘Today’s third hour was given the axe, Oct. 17, he could be handing in his mic for a pair of dancing shoes! Will he try to salvage what’s left of his career on ABC’s hit show?”
“So, who wants to see Billy Bush, 45, do the quick step?” asks the webloid. “Well, ABC is reportedly ‘courting’ the controversial TV host for its spring 2017 season of ‘Dancing With The Stars.'” The site goes on to say, “While nothing has been confirmed on Billy’s or ABC’s end about the reported ‘Dancing’ news, it does seem like this could be a likely step for the ‘locker room talk’ participant.” It’s even noted, “We haven’t heard any rumblings of any other gigs for Billy. Therefore, his schedule may be open to bust a move on the ballroom floor.”
But HollywoodLies isn’t in the business of fact-checking, or even doing basic research. Almost a full week before the outlet posted this story, Gossip Cop confirmed that Bush has NOT been offered a “Dancing with the Stars” spot. Of course, we’re not surprised by the site’s latest gaffe.
HollywoodLife is the same webloid that falsely said Ryan Lochte’s “DWTS” offer had been pulled in the wake of his Rio robbery scandal. Not only did Gossip Cop bust that untrue story at the time, but Lochte is still in the midst of competing on the ABC show.
