CLAIM: Fight Over Miley Cyrus Caused Parents’ Divorce

“Billy Ray Cyrus: The Brutal Fight that Ended Marriage,” screams a headline in this week’s National Enquirer.
According to the story, which was picked up by the equally unreliable Perez Hilton, a “confrontation erupted after Billy Ray tried to ground his super-star daughter Miley for talking back to him, and Tish intervened.”
After finding out that Tish had allegedly “given Miley permission to go out, Billy Ray went berserk with anger,” reports the tab.
The Enquirer quotes a so-called “insider” who claims “Tish locked herself in her bedroom to escape Bill Ray’s wrath. And he pounded on the door screaming: ‘Come out here and talk to me b****!’”
That supposed fight, says the magazine, “was the last straw for Billy Ray,” and led to him filing for divorce after 17 years of marriage.
Really?
No.
In fact, not only does a rep for Miley tells Gossip Cop the Enquirer piece is “not true,” but the spokesperson also stresses that the fight “never happened.”
