Bill Murray White House Press Conference: Actor Crashes Briefing Room (VIDEO)
Bill Murray crashed the White House’s briefing room on Friday to hold an impromptu press conference about the Chicago Cubs. Watch the funny video below!
Shortly after White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest finished his daily briefing, Murray took the podium decked out in full Chicago Cubs garb and proceeded to discuss his beloved team’s upcoming game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Murray acknowledged that Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw is “great,” but insisted he feels confident in his Cubs. “We’ve got too many sticks,” he said, referring to the team’s all-star sluggers. Murray added, “At home, our crowd, the weather. You get a little bit of autumn in Chicago. You don’t get that in Los Angeles. Trees just die, you know what I’m saying. In Illinois, they flourish.”
The Cubs are currently one win away from participating in their first World Series since 1945, leading the Dodgers 3-2 in the National League Championship Series. Murray is in Washington D.C. to receive the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center on Sunday. President Obama, an outspoken fan of the Chicago White Sox, will be presenting the legendary comedic actor with his honor.
Murray’s visit prompted Dodgers diehard Bryan Cranston to amusingly tweet, “Proof positive. Cubs surrogate @BillMurray inside the White House! The NLCS is rigged! If the #crookedcubs win the series I will not concede.” Watch Murray’s impromptu White House press conference in the video below!
