Bill Murray: I Got Emotional At George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin’s Wedding
“It was a wonderful time,” he told a reporter during a golf event in Scotland on Thursday. Did he cry? “I got moist,” said Murray. “I’ll get moist. I will.” He described Clooney and Alamuddin as “two wonderful people.”
Murray was asked what he got the newlyweds as a wedding gift. “You don’t buy them anything,” said Murray, adding that guests had been asked not to bring anything for the happy couple. We’re guessing Clooney and Alamuddin didn’t have a standard registry.
Clooney and Alamuddin said “I do” in a star-studded wedding in Venice. The ceremony was held at the Aman Canal Grande hotel, and officiated by Walter Veltroni, the former mayor of Rome. Clooney’s parents George and Nina were in attendance, along with Alamuddin’s parents Ramzi and Baria. Other famous guests included Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford, Matt Damon and his wife Luciana. Following their wedding, the couple had a civil ceremony in Venice, making their marriage official under Italian law.
