Bill Cosby’s fans are reacting to the comedian being charged on Wednesday with the felony sexual assault of Andrea Constand. As Gossip Cop reported earlier, Cosby was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting the former Temple University employee in January 2004 at his home in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. The charge against him is a first degree felony and, if convicted, the 78-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison. See Twitter reactions below.

Fans of Cosby expressed mixed reactions shortly after the sexual assault charge against him was announced. A Twitter user named @CCStark wrote, “Finally, Bill Cosby is charged with sexually assaulting a woman.” Similar sentiments were tweeted out by a user named @greatbrit_, who wrote, “Bill Cosby was probably living his retired life thinking he got away with years of rape but karmas a [expletive].” Others feel justice had been served with the charge. A Twitter user named @cyncnyn001, for example, commented, “Reopening this case was not a question, rather, reopening this case was our duty.”

Still, there are others who aren’t willing to believe that Cosby committed the crime. Twitter user @FlyMacPep ranted, “Man after all this [expletive] Bill Cosby is going through. He don’t deserve any of this [expletive] man.” And, @melaninxrich wrote, “They need to leave Bill Cosby along Wtf? Yall bogus.” “Bill Cosby will be proven innocent,” declared a user with handle @peeping1.

Some people on Twitter also believe Cosby might walk free, even if he convicted of the charge. A user named @sleek50 noted, “Just because Bill Cosby is charged that doesn’t mean he is going to be guilty us haven’t learned from Zimmerman case.”
