Bill Cosby Will NOT Be Charged In 1974 Playboy Mansion Alleged Molestation
Bill Cosby will NOT be charged in connection with Judy Huth’s allegations that he molested her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974 when she was 15 years old. On Tuesday, prosecutors with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that they’d decided not to file sexual abuses charges against the legendary comedian.
The D.A. did not judge the merits of Huth’s case. Instead, prosecutors determined that the statute of limitations had passed, and opted not to pursue a misdemeanor charge of annoying or molesting a child. Huth, who met with Los Angeles police detectives for approximately 90 minutes earlier this month, would have had to take action against Cosby within a year of the alleged incident.
According to Huth, Cosby gave her beer and then forced her to perform a sex act on him in a bedroom at the infamous mansion 40 years ago. She has filed a civil lawsuit against him. Cosby’s legal team claims she’s attempting to extort the star, and unsuccessfully tried to sell her story to tabloids a decade ago, demanding money from Cosby in exchange for silence.
Cosby is facing accusations of sexual assault from nearly two dozen women, many of whom have come forward for the first time in recent weeks. Gossip Cop will continue to have updates on the situation.
