VIDEO: Bill Cosby Jokes About Being “Evil” At Show As Rape Allegations Swirl
Alleged serial rapist Bill Cosby performed at a charity event for a women’s organization in the Bahamas on Thursday, even as new accusations of sexual assault surfaced against the showbiz icon. Cosby performed a 90-minute set to a mostly packed theater at the Atlantis resort, reportedly making no direct reference to the controversy that’s damaged his reputation and led to the cancellation of projects with Netflix and NBC.
It was Cosby’s first public performance since the new wave of allegations and media scrutiny began. While he did not discuss the firestorm, there’s one moment caught on camera that’s getting attention in light of the saga surrounding Cosby. During a bit, the comedian is seen pretending to cry and saying, “Parents are coming and taking their children home, saying to me, ‘Bill Cosby, you are an evil man! We will never eat your Jello pudding again!'” Watch the video below.
Cosby also mentioned his 50-year marriage to wife Camille, and reportedly dedicated the show to her. While the Bahamas audience seemed to love Cosby’s act despite the allegations, at least one upcoming standup performance was canceled on Friday, with other appearances in Las Vegas and elsewhere rumored to be in danger of cancellation. Gossip Cop will have updates.
