Bill Clinton Talks Hillary As Grandma And Presidential Candidate On Ellen (VIDEO)
Bill Clinton was on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday and talked about Hillary Clinton as a grandmother and potential presidential candidate in 2016. The former president gushed about his wife being a grandma to Chelsea Clinton’s daughter Charlotte, telling the talk show host, “She’s a dotting, giddy, deliriously happy grandmother.”
But what about her political aspirations, kept pushing DeGeneres. The talk show joked, “I understand you want to make a big announcement about your wife today,” drawing a chuckle from Clinton, who answered, “She’s the happiest grandmother in the world.” DeGeneres further asked when Hillary is with Charlotte whether she acts “presidential or more grandmotherly?”
Still not content, DeGeneres then presented Clinton with two different onsies for his granddaughter and asked if he had to pick one, which would it be, the one that read, “My Grandma’s A Stay-At-Home Granny” or the other that had emblazoned on it, “My Grandma’s Running For President In 2016.” Always a politician, Clinton said the one about her running for president “would be best for the country… [but] it’s not a decision for me to make.” The other onsie that read Hillary’s a “Stay-At-Home Granny,” said the former commander-in-chief, would make his wife “happy as a clam.” DeGeneres also gifted Clinton with a mini-car for Charlotte, complete with American flags and the presidential seal.
Clinton talked briefly about bipartisan politics, and told DeGeneres he recently spoke to George W. Bush, who’s also a grandfather, and the Republican former president gave him the best advice. He said Bush told him that despite being former leaders of the free world, “The most important thing you have to remember when you become a grandfather is that you immediately fall to last place on the family hierarchy.” Check out DeGeneres’ interview with Bill Clinton, and tell us what you think.
