Big Sean Thanks Kanye West For Support
Late Friday, Sean tweeted, “College Dropout dropped today in 2004. ‘Last Call’ gave me the inspiration to do this! 3 years later you signed me. Thank you @kanyewest.” Referring his own new album and his 2007 record deal, he continued, “10 years later on the same day, the boy from Detroit you signed has the #1 album in the country! Because you gave me a shot @kanyewest.”
“When people would tell you I wasn’t good enough, you didn’t listen. you saw the potential in me. That motivated me to get better @kanyewest,” Sean went on. “That’s what motivates me to get better n better with every project and to never ease up to this day! Love forever. GOOD (1st picture).”
Sean seemed to mean that the above photo is the first picture he and West ever took together. Both do look a bit younger, and Sean appears to be wearing a backstage pass. West hasn’t responded to the kind words from his protégé, but he did tweet an iTunes link to Sean’s album, I Decided, last week.
Released on West’s GOOD Music label, the superstar produced the album and contributed to the song “Bounce Back.” The record also features “No Favors,” a collaboration with another one of Sean’s mentors, Eminem.
