Big Ang Funeral: ‘Mob Wives’ Star Laid To Rest
Big Ang’s funeral was held on Monday morning in the Basilica of Regina Pacis in Brooklyn. Many friends and family members of the late “Mob Wives” star, whose real name was Angela Raiola, attended the ceremony to mourn her and pay their last respects.
Following the memorial service, which drew co-stars Renee Graziano, Carla Facciolo and Drita D’Avanzo, Big Ang was buried at the Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island. In addition to her funeral, a private, open-casket wake was held in Brooklyn this past weekend. As Gossip Cop reported, the reality star died last Thursday at the age of 55 following a battle with stage four lung and brain cancer. She was rushed to the hospital with pneumonia last Monday, and died a few days later, leaving behind her two children and six grandchildren.
Also in attendance at the funeral was Big Ang’s estranged husband Neil Murphy, who the reality star broke up with last year. She recently explained on “The Dr. Oz Show” that she split from Murphy because he wasn’t being supportive during her battle with cancer. After being diagnosed with throat cancer in early 2015, the reality star admitted to having smoked a pack of cigarettes a day for 40 years, but promptly quit after learning of her illness and encouraged others to stop the habit as well. Gossip Cop sends condolences to Big Ang’s friends and family during this difficult time.
