Beyonce to perform in Malaysia Despite past threats of protests

It was just two years that Beyonce bailed on a concert in Malaysia, where Islamic protesters threatened to disrupt a scheduled performance because of her sexually provocative outfits and demeanor.
Well, this time around, even though there’s already anger from some Muslims, Beyonce is standing fierce and will take to the stage on October 25 in Malaysia’s biggest city, Kuala Lumpur for her ‘I Am’ world tour. In the past, Western performers like Avril Lavigne and Gwen Stefani have covered up their bodies, so as not to offend the nation’s Muslim majority.
Sabki Yusof of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, said, according to the Associated Press, “We are not against entertainment as long as it is within the framework of our culture and our religion… We are against Western sexy performances. We don’t think our people need that.” The group has no plans, as of now, to impede her performance.
