Beyonce Stay at Hospital Prompted Health Department Investigation After Complaints

(GettyImages)

Beyonce’s birth and stay at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York caused the state’s Health Department to launch an investigation.

The probe began after the Health Department received complaints from families who claimed they were mistreated at hospital, as a result of Beyonce receiving VIP treatment.

Two families alleged that they were kept from seeing their newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit because they were barred by security guards from entering that area of the hospital.

The guards were not hospital employees, but instead extra security men hired by Beyonce and Jay-Z while she was at Lenox Hill giving birth to Blue Ivy.

The singer and rap mogul also had the hospital cover its security cameras with tape.

Peter Constantakes, a spokesman for the Health Department acknowledged to the New York Daily News, “We have received complaints,” and noted, “Whenever we receive a complaint, we look into it.”

Ultimately, The Health Department reviewed the complaints and dismissed the investigation, but the hospital will still do a probe of its own.

I don’t blame Beyonce and JZ for hiring their own security if their baby was there. That woman that complained was probably jealous because maybe Beyonce’s baby did get a certain amount of attention because after all she is a celeb and she needed security. That woman is probably some old prejudice woman who feels that Beyonce is only good for singing and dancing and that is the only place where she belongs. Beyonce is human too. All the publicity and hurt that Beyonce has receive from having a baby being like anyone else is ridiculous.

  • Cbrown46

Umm no boo. If I just had a baby I wouldn’t care who else was in that hospital, I would want to see my child. Their baby is a baby like any other. The special treatment should not have come at the expense of other parents.

  • tellthetruth

Being a celebrity of course Jay/Bey had to take all things necessary for the protection of their new arrival I personally think with a statement from that couple, they are lying trying to get some kind of press for their child because they couldn’t even get their story line together. Even if it was true it’s the hospital fault by all means because it’s up to their staff and whomever to make sure no matter who they are all patients recieve the up most of care.

  • Linda

I agree. Beyonce and Jay-Z’s baby is no more precious than any other couple’s.

  • Trusty

No, they are not any more precious than any other baby there, but I bet someone would easily come there and kidnap their baby for a ransom. The way people were treating Beyonce even before she had the baby, I don’t blame them for the security. Maybe that woman couldn’t get to Beyonce’s baby to do something to her as she had planned. It’s funny how people on this board said bad things about Beyonce being in the hospital before all this happened. They have a right to protect heir baby. This old woman probably thought that her baby was better than Beyonce’s because Beyonce is Black. If that woman’s baby got the attention nothing would have been said or done. Too bad this world is so full of prejudice.

  • vampygirl

But having the hospital put tape over the security camera is extremely dangerous as well as any baby could have been kidnapped from that hospital and if i had a baby in that unit i would not care if prince william and kate were having a baby in that hospital i would knee the guard in the nutz and walk around them and how is it britney spears christina aguilera celebs like them can go in and give birth without these problems!

  • Robsessed1986

“Two families allege that they were kept from seeing their newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit”

Wouldn’t you be upset if your baby was ill and in the neonatal ICU and you were not allowed to see him/her? I sure as would be, any loving parent would.

  • Robsessed1986

Why even bring up racial discrimination? That’s ridiculous!

  • Krissu

I somehow think that this complaint would happen even if it were Spears or Pink who gave birth. Race is not an issue here. The fact that brand new mommy can’t see her precious baby, is. Hospital and security could have made sure that nobody takes pictures of their child other ways.

  • Jjkemit

Those other people’s babies are in NICU, which means they’re pretty sick or preemies or whatever. If this is true then they had EVERY right to see their babies. Beyonce is no better and shouldn’t have had her baby in a hospital if they were so worried. My youngest spent 8 days in the NICU and it’s one of the hardest things I have ever been through. It’s not easy seeing your baby hooked up to machines and not being able to hold her any time you want. I don’t care if it’s Beyonce, the president or anybody else, they had no right.

  • um…

I’m having serious doubts that this is about being black/white. We don’t even know the race of either family who reported the hospital. I understand that some measures have to be taken in order to protect Beyonce and Jay-Z’s baby because people (like the press or your every day nut job) aren’t above exploiting celebrities and their children, even in a hospital. However, as popular as they are, other couples are excited about their newborns, too.

Jay and Bee are no more important than other people just because they are entertainers. And while security may have been necessary, it shouldn’t have to be at the expense of the other families who wanted to see their babies. I doubt that the fact that jay and bee were in the hospital was at the forefront of their minds.

  • Vortextempest

youre obviously one of those crazy ass delusional beyonce fans, keep that shit on youtube.

  • Robsessed1986

    Exactly!! And very well said!

  • Kristy

For all the money they spent making modifications to the hospital (bullet proof glass wtf?) they could have just converted a room in their mansion into a make shift hospital and she could have given birth there instead of inconveniencing other parents.. Just because they’re famous doesn’t make their baby any more special than any other baby born there at the same time. And to prevent other parents from seeing their babies or even taking pictures of their own babies is incredibly selfish.. Honestly I wish those 2 would just fade into oblivion.. They’re so annoying!

  • Trusty

It’s not RIDICULOUS!!!! It’s VERY real and TRUE. It happens A LOT here in the USA. Too bad it makes you nervous.

  • Trusty

Race is an issue. Stop running from the truth.

  • Trusty

    I know the RACE.

  • Trusty

As a matter of fact I am not a DELUSIONAL Beyonce fan. I know the truth when I see it. The USA is a prejudice place to live. Be Black and find out.

  • Trusty

Very well said for the way you see it. Be a Black in the USA. Maybe if you HATERS had left her alone she wouldn’t have had to have security. I would well secure my baby too from the prejudice RATS in the USA.

  • Trusty

They haven’t done anything to you. Blacks have rights just as anybody else in the USA, even though, they don’t want them to have it.

  • Glange20

    you’re an idiot

  • Guest

This is sick. It’s disrespectful and completely unfair. Who the hell do they think they are. Not even angelina and brad pitt made a big spectacle of their baby, and their more famous. Jay-Z and Beyonce have no class and definitely could care less about other people. SHAME

  • Celebs Are Full of Crap

I doubt the woman was prejudice, considering she is a BLACK woman who was trying to see her child. Her child was born at 34 weeks and was in the intensive care unit. One of the things this ‘jealous’ woman complained about was that the hospital covered the security cameras all over the hospital. This means that if someone came in there and just took a kid, there would be no cameras that would have seen it. Maybe you should inform yourself before making stupid comments.

  • Celebs Are Full of Crap

How is it racial discrimination when the woman who complained was also Black?

  • Celebs Are Full of Crap

Of course there is racism in America, but what does race have to do with this story? The woman who complained was also black.

  • Trusty

You don’t know what happened. That might be another story like MIchael Jackson’s, someone who wants money for the sake of a LIE. She probably figures that her word would be better than any Black anyway. People are saying to me how do I know this woman is White. Then I say to them, how do you know that this actually happened. If I don’t know the color of this woman’s skin, then you don’t know that this happened. You are probably one of those people who started hating on her before she had the baby. I hope you are not one of those who thinks that it’s too good for her to take time off from dancing and singing to have a baby. Her child has a place in this life like anyone else. That baby is here and was meant to be here. You people don’t have any control of that.

  • Agboessi

I saw the interview on the Today Show. The woman was Black. Her child was in ICU. She and her husband were denied access to their child. The hospital even acknowledged it and called her to apologize. As for taping the security cameras that was just dumb. Anything could have happened to anyone elses child and that would have caused a major law suit.

  • Trusty

How can you doubt anything? You don’t know that this happened. It is under investigation now. I bet this woman is a prejudice RAT. I consider your statement STUPID.

  • Robsessed1986

What the hell is your problem? I like Beyonce for your information. She seems like a nice enough person, Jay-Z too. You are the one making this about race, when no one knows the race of the people making the allegations. I don’t blame Beyonce and Jay-Z for wanting to keep their baby safe and for wanting their privacy, but I think it went too far. This apparently did happen, otherwise there would not be investigations into it. Beyonce and Jay-Z have rights, but so do the other parents who have babies there. They may not be able to pay as much as Beyonce and Jay-Z can, but they have rights just the same as any other paying customer. These couples’ babies were in the NICU because they were premmie or very ill. Why shouldn’t thier parents be able to visit them? You have serious problems.

  • Trusty

That was awhile back. People did Beyonce really bad before she went to the hospital. The way she was treated, I would do the same. People are more hateful and destructive nowadays. They don’t want to see a Black have or do anything in authority. I am speaking the truth.

  • Robsessed1986

I fight against racial, and ANY other, discrimination. I am not only majoring in Criminal Justice, but also minoring in Sociology. Talking about racial discrimination does not make me nervous. What makes me nervous is people like you who have the need to make everything about racial discrimination. People like you cause racial tension!
And it doesn’t just happen here in the U.S.A., it happens all over the world.

  • Trusty

No matter who the Black is, Whites think that they have no class. In hospitals and everywhere they would overlook you if you are Black. They always think that Blacks no matter who they are have no class. They are just like Whites, some have class and some don’t. Beyonce is a very nice person. I say she does have CLASS..

  • Robsessed1986

Do you live in the US? If you don’t, then how would you know anything about it? If you do, and don’t like our country, you are more than welcome to leave. I’ll buy you the plane ticket myself.
There is racial discrimination playing out all over the world to many different races. America wasn’t the first to enslave different races, including Africans. That pre-dates America and goes way back to Europe.
But, you’re not interested in any of that. You’re interests are turning everything into an issue of race.

  • Robsessed1986

I am not a hater! Grow up a little before you start a conversation you really know nothing about, outside of your little world. You think black people are the only ones who went through the torture that was going on when the Europeans first came to America? Indians were slaughtered by the MILLIONS, Hispanics were punished for speaking in the native tongue. Hispanics and Indians were not allowed to eat where whites did, or anything else for that matter. I am a member of BOTH of those races. Maybe you should find out a little more about the person you are attempting to call a hater or racist before you open your big mouth. My Native American ancestors were wiped off the face of this earth a long time ago, so don’t you dare try to paint me as a hater or racist when you know nothing about me. You are very ignorant and I will respond to you no longer!

  • Robsessed1986

You have been the ONLY racist here, spewing your hatred towards parents of sick babies just because they dare question the hospital for allowing Beyonce and Jay-Z to buy them off.

  • Monica

I mean, I get why she might’ve needed the extra security, but have them stand at your door and not anywhere else. Shoot–I would’ve brought hell and fire if someone kept me from my child!!!

  • My thoughts

And I think you’re a toll just looking to start trouble and that you actually don’t have any real opinion on anything.

    But back to the article.

It’s very upsetting that a hospital would go to such lengths for one superstars offspring. Yes, the money was paid, but the fact of the matter is, yes you have your childs. Yes, you want to prevent any harm from coming to your child. However, you just prevented other parents from loving and protecting theirs.

    So sad.

  • Guest2

@Trusty – Talk about racist. Your probably the biggest of them all. The hospital is at fault.

  • Anonymous

Trusty, time fore the medication dear. Please take them soon before you continue your episodes.

The only person here making this about race is you! Who cares if Beyonce is black, yellow, blue or orange? Her and Jay Z went too far and its disgusting. Just goes to show that no matter what in life the only color that matters is GREEN the more GREEN you have the more power you have to push around the little people. Beyonce and Jay Z should be ashamed of themselves, end of story.

  • Dave1010101010

    whats up miggas?

  • Lack of Trusty

It’s time for you to stop talking now.

  • ypfc

WTF, who cares, they are just singers, this makes them no better than we are, and their child is just as special as ours, and they shouldn’t get special treatment. Again just like government and politics, money talks! Shame on the hospital, I’d take the hospital for all I could.

  • MyKinKStar

Absolutely! If they were so damned concerned about the safely of having their baby in the any hospital, then they should have had a home birth OR gone to another hospital outside the city!

  • Shaylakerr

true that!!they should have some privacy so they can make it safe for their newborn.

  • Elanajoy

Trusty, of course they they rights, the point is, they shouldn’t have MORE rights than all the other ‘humans’ (I’m using YOUR words) in that hospital. Get it? This has NOTHING nothing NOTHING to do with race. AT ALL.

  • Elanajoy

Trusty, I am starting to think you are the ONLY person on this thread who is racist. Can you please step back a moment and look at what is being said by everyone? No one is talking about race except in response to YOU. I have no idea what race you are, and you know what? I don’t care. Not because I’m racist, but because I’m NOT racist. Your race is IRRELEVANT to me. Because RACE does not define an individual. You also have no idea what my race is, and that also does not matter. NO one here is saying that racism isn’t sadly alive, and all too common still on American soil. It is. BUT it has nothing to do with this particular case. Do bring it in where it doesn’t belong, if you truly want racism to DIE in America, it needs to stop being perpetuated on BOTH sides. God help this country!

  • Kaz

    TWAT

  • Keisha

I’m black, and I think you’re stiring up rascism issues that don’t exsist. It’s people like you that make this world a hateful racist place to live. Grow up!!

  • vampygirl

‘Okay just think about one thing…If People did not want black people to have ANY rights at all if “whites” thought that black people had no class and shouldnt have any rights OR power Then why is the most powerful man in the us BLACK if rascim was as big of an issue as you are maken it out t be obama would not be president OR he would have been assassinated i dont stay current with politics but i believe he going into a second term if he hasnt started already!

  • Krissu

You think they are lying about what? About not being able to see their baby? Or about taping the cameras?
Besides, they didn’t sue Beyonce, did they? As you said, it was hospital’s fault and they made a complaint against the hospital!
(Unless it was literally Beyonce hired security who denied the access, then they might have a case against her, but it looks like it was hospital staff)

  • Krissu

Thats what I was thinking – they could have had entire surgery team and equipment set up in their own home! Why inconvenience everybody else? My opinion of her dropped like a stone!
Well, actually , it already dropped when I read the news story little while back where she was on a shopping tour and “needed a limo to cross the street”

  • Krissu

It’s special time for anybody to have a baby, and for those woman to be treated like they are nothing? Like they and their babies don’t matter? It would leave a bitter taste into my mouth!

  • Dan

you are very pathetic…….just sad for u.

  • Non-Angry Black Woman

    Honey,
I do not know what has happened to you in your life, but I will say that I am sorry! I am Black. I am a professional. I never thought of race being the issue. I have a two year old son. Thank God he was born healthy and happy. But if he were in the NICU I would have been in jail if they did not let me see my son. As to the Black/White issue, I have not heard of any White Celebrities going to these measures. Maybe you belive they needed it because they are Black. I really don’t know. I do know I wouldn’t have cared if the Pope had a baby. I would want to see mine.

  • Janet

I’d go Rambo on the hospital if I was prevented from seeing my baby because some famewhores had taken over the maternity ward.

  • Janet

If they were that concerned about their privacy they should have set up a maternity ward in their own mansion. God knows they can afford it.

  • Janet

Trusty, shut up. I’m black and you’re an idiot.

  • Guest

This has nothing to do about race. So let me give other examples, Mary J Blige, Alicia keys, Halle Berry. They never made such a spectacle of their baby. And I may also add that I am married to an African american and he also agrees. It’s just a note that jay-z and beyonce forget about the regular people who are not rich and are the ones that made them famous. This isn’t about racism. People just add that as an excuse to defend jay-z and beyonce’s actions.

Screw that screeching harpy and her ex-dope dealer pimp! Any “private security guard” tries to keep me from seeing my new-born child and we are going to WAR!!!! BELIEVE THAT!!!!

Jealous??? Please!!! They covered the security cameras to accommodate her. That is a security risk and should have NOT been done. Beyonce went over the top with her diva crap. If YOU don’t understand, then you must not have children. I don’t care who in the hell is in the hospital having a child but MY child is JUST as important as theirs. If she had the money to blow on her special treatment at the hospital then she should have set up a birthing camp at HER house!

I didn’t see Black or White in the other Guest’s comments. Ibelieve the point was seeing a “celebrity” being given special treatments that impinged on the rights of an “average Joe”.

P.S. If it helps this discussion, on TV, they interviewed a black father voicing a complaint.

LMFAO! Or be WHITE and have that whole race shit thrown in your damn face every freakin time someone disagrees with you or thinks you are being “racist”. How about that??? Stop thinking about yourself and trying to find a reason to be offended. If more people worried about their own lives and their own actions then there wouldn’t be an issue. Playing the blame game is weak as hell!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=634906943 Den Eice

Damn right Rob!!!! And helllloooo….the Africans sold off their own people for rocks and marbles! Yeah, slavery is/was VERY wrong! Racism is disgusting…but you know what….it goes both ways and the blame isn’t solely on the white man! There were many many whites that risked their own lives and the lives of their families to help the slaves. I’m not saying, hey give the whites a cookie…no. What I AM saying is that not everyone cares about color….something that everyone should remember. Instead of accusing others of being racist they need to face reality and see the truth.

You know what Trusty, if YOU are getting that type of treatment by ALL whites, then you need to take a look at yourself. Chances are that you are portraying yourself as a racist and you are getting met with the same treatment. I’m not saying that there aren’t people who are racist but people who sit and bitch about it as much as you are are usually LOOKING to be offended. There are so many black folks out there who have incredible class and morals and have worked their asses off to become the amazing people that they are. Same for whites. People need to stop choosing black or white….no pun intended….. but there IS a grey area!

  • Guest

I’m a fair weather fan of Beyonce, enjoying her music when I happen to hear it. (Had to go back to the story to see how Jay-Z spells his name)

Yet I understand why they hired private security. To protect their baby and themselves from the kooks that stalk celebrities, as well as the paparazzi who hound them. I would not be surprised if they tried to sneak in, posing as new fathers, visiting family…

The hospital should have stepped in and coordinated an ID system for the other patients and visitors or had some plan in place where the private security had to answer to the hospital’s security. Seems the private security acted over-zealously with no oversight.

Taping the security cameras was an outrage. The hospital should be fined heavily for bowing to that pressure.

  • Robsessed1986

Most hospitals do have an ID system set up for parents to visit the NICU and the regular nursery. My tiny, compared to NYC, county hospital does.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Luna-Petunia/100000789652822 Luna Petunia

I have read alot of the complaints-and they were legitimate. I doubt if the majority of the patients there could give a rats a$$ that they were there. IF-the security cameras were taped over-I hope the Hospital gets a nice big fine-the reason why they installed security cameras in the nursery area was because of outsiders coming in and stealing someone else’s baby. IDIOTS. If this couple wanted so much security and privacy-they should have GONE TO A HOSPITAL where they could get a wing to themselves. And though I left nursing 10 years ago, all the hospitals in NY were closing down wings, etc. Better yet, Mayor Bloomberg said they were paying good money, SO THEY SHOULD HAVE LEEWAY with their actions. He was saying that they paid ‘full price’ while others do not (medicaid???) So, according to BLOOMBERG -the richer you are the better treatment you get.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1553276322 Tracy Wesson-Isham

omg you are just ignorant!!! the womans baby was in NICU. she had every freakin right to be able to have access to her baby at anytime. no,instead she had to wait because of the fame whore being an uber diva per usual. i don’t care who they are, they are not any more important than any other couple having a baby at that hospital or any hospital for that matter. screw them and their security.

They found out that there was a call from outside of the hospital… probably some prejudice HATER. Only “1″ woman complained when the others (7 out of 10) said that they did not have any hindrance of not seeing their baby. Beyonce&JayZ paid the amount of money that others have paid to require private secured quarters. Now tell me if some HATERS weren’t involved in all of this? Some NASTY INDECENT HATERS. Now tell me that this woman that is so complaining doesn’t want money? We will see…

  • Trusty

Look at how your president is being treated. He did what they couldn’t do. Now they have gotten what they wanted and ready to throw him out. He got Ben Laden and brought the troops home from Iraq. I bet they won’t give him credit for that. He did a BIG deed and they HATE him. You need to read Black history and in the area of the Reconstruction Days after the Civil War.

  • Trusty

I bet you are Black or otherwise you wouldn’t be afraid of what you are hearing. Why are you afraid? It’s true. You need to read Black history. Research, if they haven’t changed it from it’s original. You also need to read “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”.

    What!!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=658361960 Elle O’Elle

what i don’t get is, with all that money why the fuck didn’t they just have it at home if they wanted it so private. Instead of inconsiderately and rudely stopping other parents from seeing their own babies at a time when they should definitely be there, because they wanted to feel special and so important, at the expense of everyone else. Bet you if Beyonce wasn’t allowed to see her baby because of someone else pulling this, shit would have hit the fan.

    yeah, but not this time.

  • Trusty

I am non-angry also, but brave enough to face and tell the truth. I don’t live in a “fantasy land”. Race to me is not “THE” issue, but is “A” issue in the USA and always will be. Look at how the president of the USA was called all kinds of racist names while being president. Blacks are not the so- called “superior” race in the USA but the so called “inferior” race here because the population is so few. If this man named Romney so have a way to “cure” the economy, then why does he have to run for president to cure it? Why didn’t he help the president before when he was asking for help? If Romney would make such a great president, then why didn’t he help to restore the economy so that people would have jobs before and now, etc? I know politics is a dirty game, but it’s the American people that are at stake here, not some political party. You think of the country first, collectively. I am not a so called angry person but concerned about how people, not so much Blacks are treated. I am speaking of Beyonce because she happens to be a very nice Black person.

I think that Beyonce needed security because she went through so much before having the baby. She was treated awful while she was pregnant. I think it’s awful to treat any woman bad while she is pregnant. A baby in it’s prenatal stage is very real and a mother needs to be calm and relaxed, so that the baby wouldn’t be disturbed. How would they like for someone to treat their relative like that while pregnant? Well, she is human just like anyone else. People at one time use to honor women when they were pregnant because they believed they were very close to death. I have a sister who gave birth and hemorrhaged almost to death. People had no regards for Beyonce being pregnant. Where were these organizations when she needed them that could help the situation?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=658361960 Elle O’Elle

but it’s not an issue in this fucking situation. You said it was about race. Everyone already said it can’t be because one of the women was also african american. You should listen.

I read the complaints and no complaint was about not being able to see their baby in the NICU. The complaints were about being delayed for a minute or two because a hallway was blocked off for a minute while Beyonce and Jay Z passed through. I still see that as a legitimate complaint, but not anywhere near the level of seriousness as being barred from seeing ones child.

  • Trusty

“Well, after all that fuss, only two complaints were lodged: one was done anonymously, and the other was made by someone who was not even at the hospital when Blue Ivy was born, but rather who heard about the controversy in the media and decided to get outraged by proxy.

Which isn’t the strongest stance. In any case, officials reviewed both grievances before closing the probe.

They got 99 problems, but dealing with time-wasting non-scandals ain’t one.”

You and I are on the same wavelength here. I would think any loving parent would want to see if their kid in the hospital was okay. I know I would

  • Anonymous

I second your thought re: Janet

  • Anonymous

Every child anywhere is important to their parents, parent

  • Anonymous

With all due respect I disagree with your opinion. Never is hospital security warranted enough for any concerned mother or father to check on their daugher and or son. Especially when the parents are at the very least concerned for their kids for whatever reason. Its not about prejudice. Its about moms and dads being able to care for their children BTW prejudice means to prejudge. I think you are prejudging that old woman. Yeah

he’s not my president i’m Canadian and he did do a big deed and alot of people appreciate what he did because he did something bush could not do and he’s been given alot of credit for that if he didnt people would not have piled outside the white house when bin laden was killed alot of people respect him and alot has changed since the civil war area the point is in this situation when it comes to a child espeically a newborn it dont matter who you are no one has the right to stop you from seeing them and look at when johnny depps daughter was in the hospital a couple years ago with blood posioning HE is a hell of alot bigger and richer then those two did he stop parents from seeing there children while his child was in the childrens ward no instead he had his jack sparrow costume flown in and went to the hospital to entertain the other children as a thank you for what the doctors did for his daughter but he didnt have goons block off the whole floor if jz and beyonce are that worried they have the money have your child in your home what they did is just plain mean its not about race it has nothing in the world to do with race its about thinkin your better then an average person and deserve more it was cruel and mean simple as that

  • Wendywatkins

Well said. I couldn’t agree more. No one even brought up race anyway. She seems to be the real racist. that is so typical!!!

  • Wendywatkins

People probably treat you that way but not because you’re black. Because you’re ignorant.

  • Wendywatkins

Were you working in the hospital??? You seem seriously disturbed.

  • Wendywatkins

We have a black President in case you’re too delusional to figure that out who was elected by MANY white people as well as black. Find something else to whine about.

  • Trusty

    You don’t really understand.

  • Nikashavinson

Everyone is missing one main thing. The hospital should be held responsible for allowing any of this to happen. I am aware that due to their star status private security should have been their. But renting a floor and transferring patients (if its true) is not fair. Isn’t there private delivery rooms there. Why not hire a midwife or have a Dr do a housecall at there home. I would be upset also to be moved and unable to see my child. As far as the tape over the camaras why is their safety more important then others. But any amount of money should not have persuaded the hospital to allow this to happen. Just my opinion….

  • Hannah

Bottom line there should not be any special treatment for anyone including celebrities. They come to the hospital and get the same treatment regardless of their ability to pay. That is the rule and this hospital should not have allowed such incidents. Shame on this hospital. I hope they get fined!

  • Candice

PLEASE DON’T FEED THE TROLL ANYMORE!!

  • Trusty

You must be whining. I am telling the truth.

  • Trusty

    What!!! LOL

  • Trusty

Then if their baby gets kidnapped and held for a ransom, the hospital gets sued and a bad name. Celebrities are human and should have somewhere to go and their child should be protected.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A Cincinnati landlord who claimed a black girl’s hair products clouded an apartment complex’s swimming pool discriminated against the child by posting a poolside “White Only” sign, an Ohio civil rights panel said Thursday in upholding a previous finding.

The Ohio Civil Rights Commission voted 4-0 against reconsidering its finding from last fall. There was no discussion.

The group found on Sept. 29 that Jamie Hein, who is white, violated the Ohio Civil Rights Act by posting the sign at a pool at the duplex where the teenage girl was visiting her parents.

The parents filed a discrimination charge with the commission and moved out of the duplex in the racially diverse city to “avoid subjecting their family to further humiliating treatment,” the commission said in a release announcing its finding.

An investigation revealed that Hein in May posted on the gated entrance to the pool an iron sign that stated “Public Swimming Pool, White Only,” the commission statement said.

Several witnesses confirmed that the sign was posted, and the landlord indicated that she posted it because the girl used chemicals in her hair that would make the pool “cloudy,” according to the commission.

Hein told the commission she received the sign from a friend, and Ronnell Tomlinson, the commission’s housing enforcement director, said at Thursday’s hearing it was an antique. The sign says “Selma, Ala.,” at the bottom, followed by the date “14 July 31.”

The girl’s father, Michael Gunn, in brief comments Thursday, described his shock last spring when venturing out for a lunch break by the pool.

“My initial reaction to seeing the sign was of shock, disgust and outrage,” Gunn said. He also told the commission that his daughter was saddened months later to learn the reason they moved from the apartment complex “was in a way related to the color of her skin.” Gunn declined to speak with reporters.

  • Trusty

Did you see how she was treated by haters before she even went into the hospital?

  • Trusty

Yes, they are saying that it isn’t true what I am saying. They want to be in denial and say that I am one because I am calling out the fact that prejudice does exist here. There was enough to do great damage. I am not afraid to admit it. I am not in denial. You don’t know whether it has anything to do with it or not. The people who called did not identify their race. But I said that they evidently were prejudice of Beyonce &JZ or otherwise they wouldn’t have done what they did.

  • Trusty

I don’t believe you are Black. If so what are you running from? You are the idiot. Your behind is afraid. Who can you tell to shut up?

  • Trusty

I got the above AP article from today’s news…. coincidental isn’t it?

  • ilovemykids

If I was those parents who couldn’t see their baby because of all the security I would be pissed too! Point blank. It has nothing to do with anything else. Become a parent first then you talk.

  • Dany

lady your saying everyone gave her a hard time when she was pregnant so thats why they needed extra security and some how givin her a hard time during her pregnancy and giving her a hard time about this is some how because there black could it be people gave her a hard time during her pregnancy because It looked fake your stomach dose not collapse in when you sit down and what 8 month pregnant women is walking around in 5 inch stellettos you want my honest opinion lady i think they went threw all this trouble because she didnt really give birth i think she wore a pouch threw her pregnancy and had surrogate thats why they went threw the trouble of blocking parents and the dumbest move of covering the security cameras

  • Jennifer

Pretty stupid comment and an ignorant, unnecessarily beligerent attitude. This is not about race. It’s about family members wanting to – having the RIGHT to – see their sick infants and being barred from the area.

I like Beyonce. Everyone I know likes Beyonce and admire the solid relationship she and JZ have. Personally, I’m thrilled she got her wish and hope she and JZ enjoy parenthood.

YOU are the one making such UGLY comments and taking it to places it didn’t need to go with your nasty imagination. Don’t put words in other people’s mouths and ugly thoughts in other people’s heads.

  • Jennifer

There will, unfortunately, be always been nutcakes like the woman who posted that sign. Did you see her, btw? I saw her on TV. There is something mentally wrong with her – senility, or maybe just low IQ. People like her are NOT representative of main stream Americans in this day and age. That happened months ago, btw. If you want to dig and dig and dig deep enough you will always find some anecdotal bit of nonsense to support your own nutcake position. Jmho, you are just as bad as that woman – from the opposite side.

  • ??????

    WHAT?????????

  • ??????

It is absolutely useless arguing with Trusty…….

  • ??????

Actually, I (and I believe a vast mayority of the people posting) think that your comments are beyond stupid. You obviously have not had children yet or you wouldn’t write crap like you did. Please keep it that way and don’t procreate for the sake of humanity.

  • just Saying

WTF????? and what the hell does this have to do with Beonce and her baby? Are you looking for racism in every article and plaster it all over the place. I pitty you!!!!! Please spew your poison somewhere else.

  • just Saying

You need to lay off Law and Order. Beonce has the right to protect her baby just as much as other people have to right to get to their babies.
Why do you keep calling the other woman “old”? Do you know her age? Do you have the inside scoop? You seem quite ignorant to me, sorry!!!!! You should keep yor fingers from posting stupid crap.

  • ??????

Typical case of “the white man keeping the black man down” syndrome…..and btw speak for yourself about people being hateful…who is the one talking s&%t about racism, there was no mentioning of ii in this article. You should just shut up and get a life.

  • ??????

It does not make anyone nerveous, it’s just annoying for you to keep riding on this shit. Shut the h$#l up.

  • Robsessed1986

This article…..this story is very sad, BUT it has absolutely nothing to do with this story. You need to take that chip off your shoulder. As long as you play the victim, you’ll always be a victim. Sadly, your victimization is your own fault.

  • Robsessed1986

I know….because not being allowed to see your sick baby in the NICU is not a good enough reason, they HAD to be prejudice to complain. Give me a break!

  • Robsessed1986

If you click on it again it will take it away.

  • Robsessed1986

Candice means that we should not feed you our attention because then you just keep up the bullshit.
    You need help.

  • MyKinKStar

Wow, you really have no idea what you are talking about. As someone who grew up during a time when blacks (or rather ‘coloreds’) went to a different school and could not come into the front doors of restaurants, we as a nation have come a long way. That is NOT to say America doesn’t still have race issues and/or problems. BUT much of it now is spread around to other colors of people, including Asians and Hispanics and of course, people from the Middle East.

Much of the time when people show a prejudice against others of a different race or color, it’s because that person is a lowlife – criminal, druggie or drunk, etc. When they just happen to also be black or Mexican or a suspected Muslim, THEN people LIKE YOU go out of their way to impose their IGNORANCE on others, in their attempt to convince the rests of us SANE PEOPLE of something that simply is not the issue AT ALL.

Mind you, there is PLENTY of lowlife White Trashy people in the world to go around, to level out the problems in society with how races are perceived. Spread it around!

  • flipaa

I BET YOUR NOT EVEN BLACK. I suppose u find this very entertainig. When you bring up this kind of issues, it isn.t. Get a life.

  • Sarah

I can not understand why the hospital would risk the other infants by letting them disable the security cameras. If she needed a whole floor to deliver a baby why did it have to be that floor? They do have private rooms and apparently she had a normal birth. A room that size the baby could have been kept in the room with guards outside and a private nurse inside. Other stars have delivered babies without this much drama. Mariah delivered twins without this drama. THEY took away from others special time also just because they had money.

  • jessica

I totally agree. They could have even gone to a private birthing center where they could’ve kept everything private and rented out the center instead of a hospital. What would’ve happened if one of those babies passed away during this time and the parents couldn’t be there? I would be upset. I already am considering I did have a baby that had to go into the NICU. I just think it’s selfish. They chose this career and profession, so they should have accounted for this happening.

  • Mama2Jude1112

    I feel the same way!

  • Muitnta0

I have always loved Beyonce. I thought she is a humble person but i guess not any more. I’m a mother myself and frankly speaking, why make such a big sin for giving birth. A hospital is for sick people and if you feel you want more privacy than what they have then go to some private center or do it at home. Even renting the whole floor for her self is wrong. its been inconsiderate of other people. SHE IS SELFISH AND INCONSIDERATE! the whole world knows that they have money and can do anything but do it right. Health is more important than money, they could have all the money but if they give birth to a mental case child so be it. God forbide! but they should know that are babies are as important as theirs, momey or no money.
It seems is was all a publicity thing and all about money. for some of us, we value life more.

  • mysV

Beyonce and Jayz just didnt want anyone to see their surrogate. There are hospitals like Ceder-Sinai I believe that deliver many celebs babies without this much fuss. The problem lies mostly with the hospital and not the parents.

  • Guest

Her baby is no more important or special than any other baby. The fact that there is a higher risk to her security is based on the life that she chose to live and in the career that she sought to pursue. When in the public arena, she has to play by the rules like everyone else. No other parents had a right to be denied access to their children and since several couples have come forward, then I’m inclined to believe that this is the case. She could come out and set the record straight, but like the allegations of her copying material from other artists (which turned out to be true), she habitually remains silent. I blame her fans for propping her up like she’s indestructible and can do no wrong. Her fans can’t deal with any truths about her, including her height (5’3 by her own admission), her flop albulm (aka ’4′), and her serial piracy. Yes, I’m a Rhianna fan. She’s proud and more realistic and definitely more authentic than Beyonce. Yes, her voice is not as good as “B”s but she’s not a thief!
