Beyoncé Did NOT Announce Jay Z Divorce At Kelly Rowland Birthday Party, Despite Report
According to the new issue of Life & Style, which was released on Wednesday, Beyoncé got so drunk, “wild” and “increasingly out of control” at Rowland’s birthday bash at the Sunset Tower Hotel last month, to the point where she made a “shocking announcement about her future with Jay Z” in front of all the guests. One so-called “partygoer” claims, “She took off her wedding ring and held it in the air. Then she told people that it was one of the last times they’d see it. She said she was ending her marriage to Jay Z. Everyone was shocked.”
The magazine goes on to claim that Beyoncé’s mom Tina “quickly shifted into damage-control mode. She grabbed her daughter, and after a hushed conversation, Beyoncé announced that she hadn’t mean it, saying it was just the alcohol talking. But the partygoer saw her in tears later that night,” leading people to think that, “if anything, the alcohol brought out the truth.” The outlet further quotes an “insider” as saying, “She’s making plans to divorce Jay Z. She’s even been house-hunting for her own place, so she can start living her new life once the time comes.”
To recap: Life & Style wants readers to believe that Beyoncé was publicly wasted at a popular hotel and told people she was getting divorced, but the news only leaked to just this outlet? And it’s only coming out nearly two weeks later? Sure.
Gossip Cop has busted Life & Style in the past for telling tall tales about Beyoncé, and last fall we correctly called out sister publication In Touch for doing a whole cover story on the superstar supposedly making a “divorce announcement.” That, of course, never happened, and the “ending marriage” declaration didn’t happen at Rowland’s birthday party, either.
By the way, Beyoncé and Jay looked like anything but a divorcing couple at the Clippers game on Monday. They were also all smiles courtside at a game the same day as Rowland’s bash. Looks like Life & Style is once again divorced from the truth.
