Beverly Johnson: I “Forgive” Bill Cosby (VIDEO)
Beverly Johnson says she has forgiveness for Bill Cosby, despite alleging he drugged and tried to sexually assault her. Watch “Good Morning America” video below.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Johnson was one of the women to come forward last year accusing Cosby of sexual misconduct. In an essay for Vanity Fair, the supermodel claimed the comedian drugged her during an audition for a small role on “The Cosby Show.” She wrote that when she resisted his alleged come-on attempts, he forcibly kicked her out of his home.
Johnson further opens up about the experience in her new memoir, The Face That Changed It All, which she spoke about on Wednesday’s “GMA.” “It was almost like a family member had betrayed me,” she says. “It was such a huge sense of betrayal for me.” Referring to Cosby’s other accusers, Johnson notes, “These women gave me the courage to come forward.”
Interestingly, though, when asked what she would say to Cosby these days, Johnson replies, “I forgive you.” And what does she want to see “happen” to him? “I’m going to leave that to the Justice Department,” she says, “and I just feel that he’s a lightning rod for a much bigger conversation, and that conversation would be the rape culture in America.”
