Benedict Cumberbatch ‘SNL’ Monologue Features Bragging Song – WATCH VIDEO
Benedict Cumberbatch opened his “SNL” monologue by saying while people know his name now that he’s starring in Doctor Strange, they don’t know who he really is. He then sang a song, backed by female cast members of the show, in which he bragged about himself, including how he’s a Commander of the British Empire and is really smart. See the video below of Cumberbatch’s “Saturday Night Live” monologue.
This marks Cumberbatch’s debut as the host of “Saturday Night Live.” He is fronting the sketch comedy show in support of the release on Friday of his new movie Doctor Strange. As Gossip Cop reported earlier, the movie debuted in the top spot this weekend at the box office.
“Saturday Night Live” is a great place for Cumberbatch to showcase his comedic talent. While actually very funny, the British actor is mostly known for his more serious film and television work. In addition to starring in several movies, Cumberbatch also plays the lead in the U.K. series “Sherlock,” in which he stars as a modern-day crime-solving Sherlock Holmes.
Even though Doctor Strange only hit theaters on Friday, his character will pop up in a number of other upcoming Marvel movies. He recently finished production on Thor: Ragnarok, and he’s set to begin filming Avengers: Infinity War.
