Benedict Cumberbatch And Sophie Hunter Expecting Baby: Report
Benedict Cumberbatch may soon have a Cumberbaby. The actor and his fiancée, Sophie Hunter, are reportedly expecting their first child. The news comes two months after it was revealed the couple is engaged.
As Gossip Cop reported in early November, Cumberbatch and Hunter’s engagement was announced via a notice in The Times Of London. “The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katherine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London,” the message read. The “Sherlock” star met Hunter, an actress and director, on the set of Burlesque Fairytales in 2009.
According to the New York Post, Hunter is “a few months along” in her pregnancy. The newspaper further says the parents-to-be will marry in the spring, although at the Palm Springs International Film Festival just last weekend, Cumberbatch suggested that a wedding was a long ways off. Noting that “Sherlock” is resuming filming, the British star was quoted as saying, “One thing at a time… My main focus is going to be on that.”
At the event, Hunter wore a loose-fitting maxidress and posed for pictures with her purse over her stomach (see photo above). She and Cumberbatch are expected to walk the red carpet again on Sunday, at the Golden Globes, where he is a nominee of The Imitation Game. His portrayal of World War II code breaker Alan Turning has also garnered Oscar buzz.
