Ben Higgins Confirms He’s Engaged, Breaking “Bachelor” Rules Again (VIDEO)
Ben Higgins announced on Tuesday’s “Good Morning America” that he’s engaged, breaking the rules of “The Bachelor” yet again. Check out the video below.
As Gossip Cop reported, on Monday’s episode of “The Bachelor,” Higgins told both Lauren B. and JoJo that he loves them. That’s a big no-no for the ABC dating franchise, which allows contestants to declare their love for the lead, but he or she isn’t allowed to say it back so their ultimate feelings remain a secret until the finale proposal. Higgins disregarded that, confessing his love before he even eliminated the third remaining contestant, Caila.
Then on Tuesday’s “GMA,” Higgins did some more rule-breaking. The Bachelor or Bachelorette is supposed to keep a tight lid on whether he or she is engaged until the finale airs. But Higgins says in the segment, “I’m, you know, engaged. I can say that? I haven’t said that in an interview yet!”
“You don’t know how much stress and weight that is to carry on you for so long,” the relieved reality star says of keeping the secret for the last few months. He goes on to happily exclaim, “‘Good Morning America,’ I am engaged! Yes! Finally!”
But before viewers find out just who Higgins is planning to wed, his former suitors will get their say on next week’s “Women Tell All” special. Watch the “GMA” clip below.
