Ben Higgins: “I Would Love” For Amy Schumer To Be “Bachelor” Contestant
As Gossip Cop reported, Higgins was officially announced as the next “Bachelor” on Monday’s “After Paradise,” the live “Bachelor in Paradise” post-show. The 26-year-old software salesman from Denver was a favorite on the most recent season of “The Bachelorette,” and once he was eliminated by Kaitlyn Bristowe, he became a shoo-in to inherit the “Bachelor” throne from Chris Soules. Higgins will likely begin filming his season later this year, with it airing in early 2016.
Hours after the official announcement, Higgins appeared on Tuesday’s “Good Morning America” to celebrate his appointment. While the reality star expressed nerves about essentially dating 25 people at once, he was especially enthusiastic when Schumer’s name came up. As Gossip Cop has noted, Schumer appeared on “The Bachelorette” earlier this year, and she called in to “After Paradise” last night to both congratulate Higgins and offer him some phone sex.
Asked by the “GMA” hosts about Schumer potentially being a contestant (as far-fetched as that is), Higgins responded, “You know what? I would love for her to come on this season. I think we should push for it.” He went on, “She’d make everything extremely interesting. She’s hilarious. She’s been great to the show, and if she wanted to come out, I would not be against it.”
