Ben Affleck, who co-wrote and starred in Good Will Hunting, for which Robin Williams won a Best Supporting Oscar in 1998, says he’s “heartbroken” and owes “everything” to the legendary actor who died after hanging himself with a belt.

On Tuesday, Affleck wrote on his Facebook page, “Heartbroken. Thanks chief – for your friendship and for what you gave the world. Robin had a ton of love in him. He personally did so much for so many people. He made Matt [Damon] and my dreams come true.”

“What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything,” adds Affleck.

He concludes, “May you find peace my friend. #RobinWilliams‬.

Affleck joins Williams’ daughter Zelda and a slew of other stars who have been publicly grieving and reacting to the comedian’s death.

Fans too have been publicly mourning, including setting up memorials like the one at the bench in Boston Public Gardens where Williams and Damon shared a famous scene in Good Will Hunting.
