“After getting busted for counting cards — triggering a lifetime blackjack ban from the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel — Ben Affleck pals are begging him to re-enter rehab for his depraved gambling addiction,” begins a piece in the National Enquirer.

A so-called source tells the tab, “For Ben, it’s never been about the dollars — it’s the rush and excitement of winning. He just hates to lose anything!”

The magazine goes on to claim Affleck’s alleged gambling addiction has “taken control of his life,” and quotes a supposed “insider” as saying the Oscar-winner is in “denial.”

But that’s not all.

The Enquirer’s bogus source then says in incredibly unnatural language, “[Affleck] keeps insisting he’s in control — saying crazy stuff like, it doesn’t matter if he loses because he’s worth over $70 million. His attitude is, ‘I enjoy gambling… it’s not like I’m going to lose my house!’ Before he married Jennifer Garner, Ben was a sex, drugs and alcohol party boy. Now he’s headed down the same path and desperately needs help.”

Actually, it’s the Enquirer that needs help… with its reporting.

The supermarket tab has been wrong over and over and over again about Affleck.

Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a mutual pal of ours and Affleck, and was told the mag’s latest tale is “completely not true.”
