Ben Affleck is set to direct and star in a new standalone Batman movie that he’s co-writing with DC Comics’ chief creative officer Geoff Johns. This solo Batman project is slated to be released following Affleck’s debut as the Dark Knight in the upcoming Batman v Superman and him reprising the role in the Suicide Squad and Justice League films.

No plot details about the solo Batman project have been revealed, though Deadline reports that it will “reflect the Batman character that emerges after Batman V Superman and Justice League.” In his first official appearance since splitting with Jennifer Garner, Affleck is expected on Saturday at Comic-Con to promote Batman v Superman, which will hits theaters on March 25, 2016. Suicide Squad, which focuses on some of Batman’s greatest adversaries, is expected to be in theaters in August 2016.

But before Affleck tackles all the behind-the-scenes of the standalone Batman film, he’s slated to direct, as Gossip Cop reported earlier, the crime drama Live By Night in November. While Warner Bros. has not yet made an announcement about the Batman project, it’s expected the studio will wait until Comic-Con on Saturday to make it official.
