At Least 12 Dead in Mass Shooting at The Dark Knight Rises Midnight Show

A gunman wearing a gas mask and bullet proof vest opened fire at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado, killing at least a dozen people and injuring as many as 50 more in one of the worst shooting sprees in recent American history.

The horror occurred at the Century Aurora 16 outside Denver.
The gunman reportedly tossed tear gas into the movie theater and walked up the aisle, killing indiscriminately.
A 24-year-old suspect named James Holmes was captured and arrested at the scene.
Police say he had at least a rifle, a shotgun and two handguns.
