Barbara Walters heart surgery “went well”

On Monday, Barbara Walters shockingly announced on “The View” that she needed heart surgery.

“Later this week, I’m going to have surgery to replace one faulty heart valve,” Walters told her co-hosts and studio audience.

Well, Walters had the surgery, and Gossip Cop is happy to report the TV legend is doing OK.

Her rep said the operation “went well and the doctors are very pleased with the outcome.”

Walters’ heart problem was discovered some time ago during an echocardiogram, but she waited until now to have the procedure, which requires between a month and three months of recovery.

She said she intends to come “roaring back in September.”

    I don’t wish anyone harm, but Barbara needs to stay off The View! She can’t banter well, without assuming no one else knows the background to the story and having to tell it; she talks over top of the others, then apologizes and wastes more time; AND she ruins any interview when she’s there, because the others don’t get a chance to be part of the talking – hate those card questions! She might have come up with the idea for the show, along with Bill Getty, BUT it’s evolved into something more than who she is, and it’s time for her to stay home, recooperate and enjoy life with her dog and her daughter!
