Barbara Walters Announces Next Oscar Special Will Be Last

Next month’s Oscar Night interview special will be the last one for Barbara Walters, she announced Monday.

It will end a 29-year tradition.

On “The View,” Walters said of the annual special, she feels as though she’s “been there, done that.”

The final installment, airing on March 7 with the Academy Awards telecast, features Sandra Bullock and Mo’Nique. It will also highlight past specials with a retrospective.

Walters will not be leaving her job as “View” co-host, nor her other annual special, “The 10 Most Fascinating People.”

    Ugh, Babs has been due a retirement for a looong time! I can’t stand her or her interviewing style, and turn the channel whenever she’s on The View. She’s all about getting a scoop, pretends to know what she’s talking about and puts people on the spot, BUT she won’t claim her own age – AS IF no one knows she’s OLD! No respect for her from me – not since she threw Rosie under the bus, AND I wasn’t a fan of her either! It’s just that right is right, and Barbara was wrong to take The Donald’s side just to keep from offending him.
