Baldwin a Bully? Say nay to Fey vs. Smart Alec Rumor

While “30 Rock” is very funny, a National Enquirer story about one of its stars is downright laughable.

According to the supermarket tab, Tina Fey has had to warn Alec Baldwin about his alleged “bullying and belittling” of co-workers. The piece also says Fey is “frustrated and furious” because Baldwin reportedly tells directors, “I don’t take direction.” And finally, the rag claims, “Tina ordered Alec to stop acting like a pompous a**… or she’ll fire his pompous a**!”

Gossip Cop, who used to be a producer at NBC and still has many friends at the network, is told the Enquirer tale is “ridiculous.” One, Baldwin is loved by his co-workers, who he vocally supported and pushed for at Emmy time. Two, the story is “not true,” says a source close to Baldwin. Three, fire Baldwin? Really? There’s no show without him. And four, did we mention it’s not true?

Not sure why the Enquirer is trying to drum up drama around the hit comedy series, which has its season premiere tomorrow. Regardless, we’ll be watching.
