Backstreet Boys, Meghan Trainor “Greatest Hits” Video: “I Want It That Way” Performance – WATCH!
As Gossip Cop reported, “Greatest Hits” premiered last week. The six-episode series pays tribute to the best songs from the last 30 or so years. And while the first installment focused on 1980 to 1985, the second jumped ahead to 1995 to 2000.
Of course, that was the Backstreet Boys’ heyday. In 1999, “I Want It That Way” was released as the lead single off the Millennium album, and it peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s since become one of the boy band’s most popular songs of all time.
Trainor was only 5 years old at the time, and never could’ve imagined she’d one day do a duet of the track on a television show hosted by Kelsea Ballerini and Arsenio Hall. And while it could be argued that the show is admirably bridging the old and the new, BSB is still doing pretty well all these years later. Like fellow group New Kids On The Block, the fivesome are still recording new music and touring around the world.
And to kick off the show, they also treated “Greatest Hits” fans to a throwback performance of another classic song, “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back),” which came out in the U.S. in 1998. Check out both videos below!
