B.B. King’s Daughter Says She Didn’t Get To Say Goodbye To Dad
B.B. King’s daughter Patty says she and her sister Karen Williams didn’t get to say their final goodbyes to their father before he died on Thursday because they were kept away in the days leading up to his death by his business manager Laverne Toney. Patty hopes, however, that she and her other siblings can help with the music legend’s memorial.
Patty was set to visit her father on Saturday, after getting approval from Toney, but the business manager called her and her sister on Thursday to let them know King had already passed away. Patty says her father wanted his daughters to be by him shortly before he died. “(King) loved so big, loved people, and people loved him,” Patty tells TMZ. “He always wanted to be kind to people. He was just such a great dad. He is so loved and so missed already.”
As Gossip Cop previously reported, King’s kids alleged that Toney had engaged in elder abuse and swindled the musician out of $20 million, but a judge denied their request to take charge of his care, citing the kids had no evidence to back up their claims. Since King passed away at his Las Vegas home at the age of 89, following a recent spate of health problems, stars have taken to Twitter to express their condolences as well as their admiration for the singing and guitar legend.
