Avril Lavigne is engaged to Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, her rep confirms to Gossip Cop.

The rocker popped the question to Lavigne on August 8 with a reported 14-karat diamond ring.

They began dating earlier this year, after Kroeger started helping Lavigne with her upcoming album.

It will be the second marriage for Lavigne, who was previously wed to Sum 41′s Deryck Whibley.

The singer and former boyfriend Brody Jenner split in January.

The engagement news was first reported by People.
