Author of Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie book that the Star based its cover on rips the tab

On the cover of this week’s Star, “Angie & Brad’s Dark Secrets Exposed!” the mag also touts, “A shocking new book reveals their fairy tale life is a sick sham that’s about to explode.” 

It is true there is a new book coming out soon by Ian Halperin about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie titled, “Brangelina Exposed.” What’s entirely not true, however, is that the Star had special access to the book, which reportedly contains some eyebrow raising details about their private lives.

In fact, Halperin himself told UsMagazine.com that when he saw the Star story, “I was stunned… I never spoke to [the magazine].”

Wait, it gets worse. Halperin says, “I finished writing the book… hours after the Star story broke!” Oops.

As opposed to the Star’s attempt, if you want to know what’s actually in the book, says Halperin, “I urge people to wait until the real excerpts from the book are published to get the real story.”

    I wouldn’t be taking anything Halperin says as fact. The man is proven, known liar who will do and say anything for media attention. He’s also someone that needs a mental health professional. He has said and printed some of the most outrageous and vile things about these people. All Star had to do is look at his web site. He is obsessed with Angelina Jolie

    There’s no doubt Halperin has printed stuff that is, as you say correctly, “outrageous,” which is precisely why we didn’t repeat ANY of his allegations about Brad and Angelina in the posting. His assertions, sourcing… are definitely worth scrutinizing. But in this case, Star did not have access to his manuscript, except for possibly some of the publicly released press material — and claiming they did is wrong.

    Gossip Cop is on the same page with you about Halperin, and essentially anyone who writes rumor-laden books about celebrities without really knowing them or getting everything on the record.

    Halperin is the same as Perez. Have you ever read his site. I’m no fan of AJ or BP but what he has reported on his site and the comments his followers have said are disgusting. I learned about Ian’s site from another site I read for sh!its and giggles. Gossip Cop, have you ever read Ian’s site? I’m sure you have but if you haven’t check it out. The first and last time I was there was either in April or May. Was never a poster but did read many of the stories. I’m no prude but……I couldn’t/wouldn’t continue even for the sh!ts and giggles.
