Former “X Factor” contestant Astro has landed a record deal!

The fifteen-year-old rapper from Brooklyn, who butted heads with Simon Cowell on the singing competition, has just been signed to L.A. Reid’s label Epic Records.

Reid was Astro’s mentor on the show and a major proponent of the young singer’s talent.

Reid has already signed the show’s winner, Melanie Amaro, to a contract.

Astro (born Brian Bradley) confirmed the “great news” on Twitter Wednesday morning.
