Ashley Judd to pen painful childhood memoir
3:11 pm, January 26th, 2010
Ashley Judd is penning her first book, a memoir chronicling her difficult childhood and how it spurred her to do advocacy work on behalf of women and children in the most impoverished nations.
The book, slated for release in 2011, will rely heavily on the 500 or so pages of journal entries Judd wrote about her childhood in Kentucky and Tennessee with her mom, country singer Naomi Judd.
The themes of hope and change will run throughout the narrative.
Judd said, “By sharing my own story along with those of the beautiful and resilient people I’ve met in the most desperate places, I want to show how the change we seek in the world must start within us.”
