I like Kellan and Ashley’s ok, but Rob and Kristen are the only main cast members who can’t be replaced.

Meh. More helpful to retain Greene than Lutz if you have to make the hard choice. They both have back story scenes (bear, asylum) coming up in BDawn, so a little room there. Too bad this isn’t a discussion of Reed though – the obvious choice to curb kick for cash having decimated Rosalie’s nuanced jealous character. She could have been an epic foil in these films, but alas… not.

I have a better idea! Let’s replace the fucking studio who seems hell bent on destroying this series for the REAL fans!

They have changed the Edward and Bella love story into a love triangle…it only surfaced after the tent scene in Eclipse and then she stuck with her choice of Edward. They’ve made Jacob Black a loving, sweet and endearing character instead of the manipulative and immature person in the books. They cut and rushed the emotional E/B reunion scenes and totes eliminated fan favorite dialogue in NM. They fired Rachelle. They continue to allow Melissa Rosenberg to butcher the scripts. They make the actors look awful in the movies…ridiculous wigs, heavy makeup, and crappy clothes. They totes ignore fans favorite lines from the books. They promote Taylor Lautner to the point of excluding Rob and Kristen and the rest of the cast…really sick of having him represent the series!

Scummit should get back to the basics…the Twilight Saga is about how Bella loves Edward and Edward loves Bella…everything else in the story revolves around that one fact! Ashley and Kellan are a part of this story whether they have one line or ten pages! If everyone signed for four movies then there shouldn’t be ANY problem if they want extra money do a fifth one! Scummit HAS MORE THAN A BILLION DOLLARS FROM THESE MOVIES! If they fire Ashley or Kellan or both…then I’m done with it! Today, it’s Ashey and Kellan and next month it could be Rob and Kristen! I’ll be so glad when they are free of this hateful studio!

Replace them. They are props. Its not a big deal. If they have to fire one to settle with the other, fire Kellan. Ashley has tricked a lot of little girls into thinking shes a pretty,innocent, good actress (ha) so ashley fired would be bad. She would get more sympathy. Kellan in more unnecessary than Ashley.

People will say it would affect the movie now, but in a year and a half, when its out, no one will care or remember them. Im still seeing them after rachelle got fired (for the same reason). People are fickle and will get over these 2 as long as Robsten is in.

Truth is anyone other than kristen, Rob, and Taylor are replacable. They hold the franchise and Kstew is in every scene while ash and kel have maybe 4 lines. They got too greedy.

Who cares if these two get fired? Personnally I don’t! If these rumors are true, they should keep in mind that without the Twilight movies they still would be Z-list actors, what they probably will go back to be when this is over, maybe why they are asking for more money now…. I will not see Breaking Dawn if any of the Cullen actors get replaced!! It wouldn’t be the same without either of them playing their respected roles and besides it would be silly and strange to see other actors playing Alice and/or Emmett with the Twilight film series coming to a close with Breaking Dawn. Actually I really wouldn’t see the film if Jackson dropped out too, he is the main reason I see the any of these movies. So please Gossip Cop, help us with finding truth to these rumors, I hate being so uncertain and I want these rumors put to rest, because It is really squashing the excitement I feel for Eclispe.

The “Holy Trio” may be the main “money-maker” for the Twilight series, but they couldn’t really work without the support of other cast members. I hate it that Rob, Kristen and Taylor get all of the attention, I care more for the other Cullen actors than those three. Besides they aren’t connected to the fans as the other Twilight cast are, the “Holy Trio” don’t go to Twilight conventions, release parties and etc. as the other Twilight actors do- so it is sort of unfair that Kellan and Ashley are getting backlashed for wanting more $$ for their work, but I don’t think they should be paid $4 million per film (if Breaking Dawn gets split in two), I think $750,000-$1million is more than fair, Alice & Emmett don’t have big roles in the final installment.

You’re asking the wrong question, GC. Of course replacing one or two actors will make a difference to Breaking Dawn. It can’t fail to make a difference to fans who will have already watched three films in the franchise. The question should be how many people would be bothered by that difference?

There was a big fan backlash when Rachelle was replaced, but it made no difference. I don’t think these actors are in as strong a bargaining position as they think. Fans will get over it if Kellan or Ashley decide to walk away from what they’re offered. If I had the choice I’d rather see Kellan go – he hasn’t really made that big an impression on me as Emmett. I’d miss Ashley more, but that’s because I like the character of Alice the best of the two, not because I’m attached to the actress who plays her. Personally, I’d rather see the money spent on the CGI effects that will be needed. As we saw with New Moon, cheap effects can be detrimental to the overall quality of the film, as does minimising the two lead roles (Bella/Edward) in favour of non-essential characters.

Ashley and Kellan are clearly not doing it for the fans (like we know Rob and Kristen are doing), I say, screw them, they are not even in the first part of Breaking Dawn (seeing that it is to be divided in two parts) all that much and we really wouldn’t miss them. And of course Jacob cannot be fired as he is one of the main characters and much of the middle part depends on his POV. So Summit, can Kellan and Ashley, they need wake up calls.

If they “ll be replaced …it won’t be the same!!!. . I already had a bad time without Rachell in NM. The Cullen family must be keep intact!. Summit has already made a bunch of money, just pay them if not all; very close at whatever they are asking. In that way every body will be happy!!!.

If someone has to be replaced, I say keep Ashley and Kellan and replace Kristen (that way they can give Kristen’s salary to Ashley and Kellan and get an actress for cheap). She is such a terrible actress. How can someone be in 18 movies before they get noticed unless they are a terrible actress/actor–and that is the case with Kristen. At least Ashley and Kellan have some dynamics to their acting whereas she is always the same monotone, troubled, strung out teen.

I am not surprised that rumors are now focused on the supporting cast. The main trio will not be replaced and it is to be expected that their contracts would be negotiated first. Summit has made billions on the first 2 movies and will make billions more on the final 2 (or 3). Why wouldn’t the supporting cast ask for more money? The Cullen family is a HUGE part of this franchise and their respective roles have added to the success. The fans have connected with the supporting actors and deserve to have Summit deliver. Summit created this cast and they need to pay up and stop being greedy.

I don’t ever understand why stars want to hurt their careers. What idiot is telling these two that this would be a good career move. All anyone will remember about them is fan failure if they walk away. You fail the fans, you fail your career which is driven by the fans. Complete stupidity on their parts if they become known as the “Twilight Quitters.” How many of us have really followed Rachelle Lefevre since she got canned. Summit isn’t going to waste their time with unappreciative actors who leave fans disappointed. Come on Kellan and Ashley you know better. We need you to come back to the table and finish what you started.

As the success of the saga grows, the actors have every right to ask for more money. I, for 1, will be majorly p*ssed if Summit decide to fire Kellan and Ashley or refuse to agree with them resulting in them both quitting. The fans have identified and relate to Kellan and Ashley as the characters, Emmett and Alice. It would be ridiculous to replace them so late on! Summit had a riot on their hands after firing Rachelle and will have a riot on their hands again if Kellan and Ashley leave due to Summit’s arrogance and stubborness.

As some ladies have already stated, these actors deserve a raise. This isnt some indie film anymore and the salaries should reflect that. Summit is trying to hold onto their billions and give as little away as possible. This cast does more than just make the movies. Kellan and Ashley do more press and travel than Kristen, Rob, and Taylor. Who shows up at convention, charity events, fan appearances, signing, along with the regular interviews and press junkets? In response to a couple comments. They shouldn’t have to think about what the fans want when negotiating their pay. They should do a film for themselves and no one else. I think you’ll find ALOT of fans will be sticking by them! I love Kristen and Rob but I don’t agree that they are doing the films JUST for the benefit of the fans. It’s the money too and they get paid a heck of a lot more than the others! Oh and I’ve followed Rachelle since she got replaced. What a major fail by Summit that was!

Emmettroselover, I agree with you about how much publicity they do. Rob and Kristen (and Taylor?) only seem to be allowed to do official conventions where as the others do the unofficial ones too if they’re able/want to. Heck we’ve got Peter coming over here in the Uk in Oct to do Eternal Twilight 4! Which I am immensely excited about by the way!

Rob, Kristen, and Taylor have NEVER attended a convention and probably never will. When they do make appearances, it is usually a quick stop in unless it is a press conference. That isnt taking anything away from those three, but it does show that they do not do the same amount of things that the Cullen cast do. Peter is constantly doing signings and conventions. Kellan, Ashley, and Jackson do as much as they can with their busy schedules.

I also agree about your other comment Dayna. Contrary to popular belief, when it comes to pay, the fans really shouldnt even be involved. We arent entitled to anything with this cast. They work their butts off for everything that they have and the fans should appreciate that. Yes this helped make their careers but they had to work to get it. I am so tired of hearing fans who know nothing about the hard work it takes to be an actor and the grueling schedule, hate on actors and what they do. Yes there are some celebs who are only in it for the fame and money but we lucked out with a cast who cares about the characters, the fans, and sees acting as an art. They do however have lives and that is their livelihood so they should be paid accordingly for it. I mean seriously what is 8 million dollars for two main characters…and yes Alice and Emmett are main characters, dont believe me then pick up the books…… when the franchise is making billions just from two movies? We all know that Eclipse will rack in the dough and unless Summit screws up yet again, then so will Breaking Dawn.

This isnt a matter of the actors getting greedy and wanting more than they are worth. This is the studio trying to hoard money and not give the cast what they are due. One report said that the Cullen cast makes less than a million dollars a film, that is just ridiculous and in that industry with the amount of star power this cast and the hysteria following them the fact that they are making less than a million is a slap in the face.

Rob, Kristen and Taylor have been to conventions – at least two Comic Cons with several panel discussions each. Geez, Summit traipsed them all over the world on “5 countries in one week” promo tours, into premieres and press junkets, walked them down a sea of red carpets, into countless radio and TV interviews, major and minor talk shows, splashed them onto every magazine I can think of in multiple languages, sat them at book signing tables and even rolled them into shopping mall appearances for chrissakes. Let’s just get that point straight. What rock have you been under? No offense – but the studio overexposes Kristen and Rob at risk to their own individual career brands. The entire cast busts a nugget for this franchise – especially, Rob and Kristen.

Well it’s pretty clear that GC doesn’t know the scoop on this either and I’m not sure what good voicing our opinions here is going to do except fuel this negativity even further but here are a few points:

1.) If Kellan and Ashley are fired/replaced whatever’d by Summit, Summit is going to lose a lot of money and a lot of true fans.

2.) Anyone who says they don’t care if Kellan or Ashley are replaced are either a.) not real fans or b.) plants put here to say this crap by Summit and try to affect us negatively by putting the blame on Kellan and Ashley. No true fan would be iffy or indifferent.

We the true fans are sick of Summit’s whining about money. They have raked in Billions of dollars on just two movies. I should know – I’ve spent a ton. Eclipse isn’t even out yet. If this controversy is the path Summit want to pave to Eclipse it’s a road I won’t go down. I watched New Moon in the theater 9 times and bought “all 4 DVD versions”. I’m a true fan and Yes, I do have a say. I will speak with my cash.

Summits greedy fingers need to be pried off their horde of money and paid out to two of the reasons we go see the movies in the first place. If Kellan and Ashley are replaced, Summit will have an uprising on their hands. And “No”, we haven’t forgotten what they did to Rachelle. We will never forget. Keep that in mind and stop playing god Summit because you’re not even close. You think you can manipulate the fans? WRONG! Know why? Because I have my books and you can’t control, mangle, change or manipulate those.

In general Summit CAN replace Kellan and Ashley. It’s no skin off their backs.

Will it make a difference? The answer is yes. After being in the other three movies if the roles of Emmett and Alice were to suddenly be replaced, fans would get very upset. By now fans are used to seeing Kellan as Emmett and Ashley as Alice. They associate their faces with that of their fictional characters. It would be disturbing to fans to suddenly see a completely new face as Emmett and Alice.

Should Kellan and Alice ask for more money? Yes and no. The both of them are becoming quite famous now since they now have many different roles in new movies especially Kellan. It only makes sense that as they get more famous the more money they get paid. However at the same time since they haven’t become quite that famous they should be expecting lots more money.

So, should Summit pay Kellan and Ashley more? Yes and no. Summit has made a create deal of money from the fans that have gone to seen the Twilight movies not once but twice (some even more than that *know someone who went to the theater five times for each movie and bought the DVDs.*) and bought the DVDs. They can afford to pay Kellan and Ashley more. However, they shouldn’t have to pay the full amount of money that Kellan and Ashley demand as they aren’t that famous to generate that high a paycheck. What is needed is a compromise with Summit paying Kellan and Ashley more but Kellan and Ashley not asking/getting as much as they are demanding.

I agree with the majority of fans. Kristen Stewart should be the one to go. Summit has to know the fans don’t like her. We don’t care how many movies are left. Fans would be thrilled if Kristen was replaced. PLEASE SUMMIT!!!

I think its pretty crappy that after a franchise that has gotten them BOTH so much publicity that they are complaining about not getting “enough money” and they “want more money”…. suck it up. I honestly believe they shouldn’t replace them. BUT, if it has to happen, they should get rid of Kellan. Sigh. To be objective and clinical about this mess, he is so not important to th story as it’s developed in the movies. He shouldn’t demand $4mil for the three lines or so he has said in the past movies. I love him, but.. no way. H eshouldn’t get this thing going to his head like that. I would burn down Summit or something if they loose Kristen, Rob (although I’m not that big of a fan of him playing Edward Cullen) or Taylor. Wise of them to keep them. If they were demanding more money, they should totally get it. And, to be quite honest, I think Ashley is being very hypocritical about this. I’ve seen videos of her saying how big fan of the books she is, so she should be aware that playing little Alice is a tremendous gift form life, or whatever it is that she believes in. If she is really willing to let go of Alice because she doesn’t have a couple of extra millions (that honestly she doesn’t deserve) she SHOULD get fired. Anyone who has read the books (probably 1/2 world from this side of the pool) knows that Alice is gone for most opf Breaking Dawn, and so is Jasper. BD is about Bella, Edward, Jacob and Nessie…oh!and a little more of Rosalie. The others, we can live without.

Replacing Kristen Stewart would be best for Summit. They need a lead actress that has the ability to promote the movies. Summit knows replacing Kristen will not detur anyone from seeing BD. In fact many fans would give the saga a second chance if she was replaced as they were so disappointed with her performance in NM.
