Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Donald Trump Feud Response: “We Are Not Enemies”
As Gossip Cop reported, Trump slammed both Schwarzenegger and the “Apprentice” ratings on Friday morning, days after the season premiere. The President-elect wrote, “Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got ‘swamped’ (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT. So much for being a movie star-and that was season 1 compared to season 14. Now compare him to my season 1. But who cares, he supported Kasich & Hillary.”
Now, less than three hours after the diss, Schwarzenegger has issued a rather mature response. “There’s nothing more important than the people’s work, @realDonaldTrump,” he wrote. “I wish you the best of luck and I hope you’ll work for ALL of the American people as aggressively as you worked for your ratings.”
Schwarzenegger also posted a video urging, “Please study this quote from Lincoln’s inaugural, @realDonaldTrump. It inspired me every day I was Governor, and I hope it inspires you.” In the clip, which was actually filmed following the election, Schwarzenegger delivers the quote saying, “We are not enemies, but friends. We must not enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection.”
After reading the full quote, Schwarzenegger said, “The campaign is over, the election is over. We are not enemies. We are neighbors and we are friends and, most importantly, we are all Americans, and we have a lot of work to do to keep America great. So let’s do it. Let’s do it together.” We’ll see if Trump takes the advice.
