Arnold Schwarzenegger Could Lose $200 Million in Divorce

Should Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver go through with a divorce, it could cost the former governor BIG bucks.

Just a week ago, it was revealed that Schwarzenegger secretly fathered an illegitimate son more than a decade ago with a member of his household staff named Mildred Baena. Since then, Shriver has reportedly retained a divorce attorney, and according to estimates, the couple is worth up to a possible $400 million.

While it’s believed that Schwarzenegger and Shriver have a prenup, after 25 years of marriage and revelations of the action star’s out of wedlock action, it’s not inconceivable the agreement can get thrown out. If that happened, the couple — under California law — would split their marital assets 50-50.

Interestingly, right after Schwarzenegger left office, he told the Austrian newspaper Krone that if one calculated all the income from the movies roles he could have taken during the years he served as governor, plus his out-of-pocket expenses, “in all it is probably more than $200 million” he personally lost running the state of California.

In that same interview, Schwarzenegger possibly hinted at his problems at home. He said that while it was worth losing all that movie money to be governor, “What was much worse was the damage my time as governor did to the family. There is a lot there that needs to be repaired.”

Hmm… What do you think of Shriver potentially walking away with nearly $200 million if the couple divorces?
