Ariel Winter NOT Being Fired From “Modern Family,” Despite Report
Ariel Winter is NOT being fired from “Modern Family,” despite a 100 percent untrue report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the story.
It’s alleged in Wednesday’s new edition of Star that the “Modern Family” producers “may write off star Ariel Winter in order to satisfy the salary requirements of Sofia Vergara, Ed O’Neill and Julie Bowen.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “To renew deals for the ‘big three,’ some of the younger actors will be shuffled or cut entirely.”
“Ariel isn’t central to the show, so she’s at the top of the chopping block,” claims the supposed snitch. The alleged tipster goes on to assert, “She’ll be sad to leave — the cast is a second family to her — but she’s also very excited for the next opportunity.” It’s even said Winter is “angling for her own show.”
But while Winter may one day take her career in a new direction, she’s not getting “axed” from “Modern Family,” as Star wrongly claims. Steve Levitan, the co-creator and executive producer of “Modern Family” exclusively tells Gossip Cop, “Nothing could be further from the truth. Ariel is a beloved cast member and a crucial part of our show. While she is starting to attend classes this year at UCLA, we are happy to report that she’ll continue to be a part of Modern Family’s coming season.”
Winter is pictured above at January’s SAG Awards with Levitan and O’Neill. Expect to see them together for some time to come.
