Ariana Grande: I “Laughed Hysterically” At Rumor Claiming I Want My Fans To “Die”
Ariana Grande has scored her first InStyle cover. The star graces the magazine’s December issue in a stunning red Prabal Gurung gown.
In the accompanying interview, Grande shoots down rumors, something she’s had to do with increasing frequency as her fame grows. As Gossip Cop reported in September, one outlet claimed Grande was overheard saying she hopes her fans “f*cking die.” She now tells InStyle that the account is “fictional.” “That one had me laughing hysterically,” she goes on to admit. “Because anyone who knows me or has done any homework at all knows that I would literally give a limb for my fans.”
Grande seems to understand that some things, fairly or not, are just the price of success. “Some things are easier now, and others are harder,” she says. “I never expected to be in a position where so many people are invested in every little thing I say and do.” Grande adds, “Part of me wants to say, ‘Oh my god, that’s so not me! Please don’t believe that!'”
And interest in the singer’s personal life has reached a new level since she started dating rapper Big Sean. At times the couple seems to hide their relationship, and other times it’s right there on Instagram. Grande explains, “I have conflicting feelings about it. On the one hand, I feel like I’m growing up and realize my life is my life and some things don’t need to be shared. But I’m very spur-of-the-moment, very open with my fans. And if there’s a cute pic I like that’s a little personal and I want to share it, maybe I will.”
The full interview hits newsstands on November 14. What do you think of Grande’s comments?
