Ariana Grande posted a YouTube video called “Sorry Babes” late Thursday, in which she apologized again “for the whole donut fiasco.” Watch below.

As Gossip Cop reported, Grande was caught on camera licking donuts at a California shop, and exclaiming “I hate America” and “I hate Americans.” The video, taken July 4, leaked on Tuesday, and she issued an apology statement on Wednesday, but she’s still been getting ripped by everyone from fellow celebrities to pundits to anonymous social media users. Some have said Grande’s statement fell short, and that seems to be the impetus for her apology video.

Grande began, “I feel like the apology that I posted — I kind of missed my opportunity to actually, like, sincerely apologize and express how I was feeling because I was too busy preaching about my issues with the food industry, which is not, I feel like, relative. I feel like I could’ve expressed myself in a different way, so here I am.”

“I was trying to get you to understand where I was coming from when I said what I said,” continued Grande, “but that’s not important. I rather just apologize. I feel like now’s my chance, before the whole thing blows over, to say my side, and that I’ve actually never been prouder to be American, to be honest.”

Grande explained, “All the advances we’ve made in the last couple of months, all the wonderful progressive things that have been going on — I’ve never been prouder of this country, actually. But, yeah, here I am apologizing to y’all.” The singer went on to admit, “Seeing a video of yourself behaving poorly that you had no idea was taken is such a rude awakening. It’s like you don’t know what to do. I was so disgusted with myself.”

“I’m gonna come forward, and own up to it, and take responsibility, and say I’m sorry,” said Grande, “because I acted in a way I feel like wasn’t necessary, to say the least, but also just wasn’t me at all. I apologize for my poor choice of words, and my behavior.”

Grande then vowed to never act in such a way again, saying, “I never want to be anything but a positive influence on my babes, or my loves, or anyone who pays attention to me, for that matter… I feel like I let you all down, which sucks.” She further acknowledged, “It has not been an easy 24 hours. It’s been rough, but, you know, I made a mistake and I’m being judged for it, which I understand.”

At 22, Grande said she still has “a lot to learn,” and argued that people “learn” and “grow” through “mistakes” and “messing up.” Still, Grande confessed, “I’m not here to justify my behavior or make any excuses, because I can’t. I’m just here to apologize, and tell you that I love you, and I appreciate being able to talk to you like this.”

At no point in the four-minute video did Grande specifically reference her controversial statements, or comment on licking the donuts. She did, however, seem on the verge of tears at various points. Check out the whole video below, and tell us what you think. Note: Video no longer available.
