Ben Affleck debuted the trailer for his latest directorial effort, Argo, on Tuesday.

Based on a true story, the movie tells the tale of a CIA specialist (Affleck) who concocts an elaborate plan to rescue a number of American citizens trapped in Iran during the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

John Goodman, Alan Arkin and Bryan Cranston also star.

Argo hits theaters on October 12.
