VIDEO: Man With ALS Gives Heartbreaking Response To Ice Bucket Challenge Haters
Anthony Carbajal has a message for anyone annoyed by the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge videos that have taken over the Internet in recent days:
They’re worth it.
Carbajal is a 26-year-old wedding photographer whose grandmother had the illness, whose mother has it, and who was diagnosed with it himself five months ago.
The disease is “so, so f*cking scary,” he says. “You have no idea.”
And that’s why he’s overwhelmed with emotion when discussing how important it’s been to see the Ice Bucket Challenge take off — generating enormous awareness about the condition and millions upon millions of dollars in money for research.
“I promise, your news feed will go back to cat videos and ‘Let It Go’ covers, but right now, the ALS community has the main spotlight. And for once in my entire life, I’ve seen it at the forefront,” explains Carbajal.
