Anne Hathaway totally surprised students at P.S. 22 in New York during their Annual Winter Concert last night.

First, Academy Awards producer Bruce Cohen introduced himself to the assembled students and parents, who were there to hear the school’s chorus perform holiday songs. Then, Cohen told the children he had a surprise for them, and asked if they would like to meet one of the Oscars’ hosts.

To the shock and joy of the kids, Hathaway walked out and told members of P.S. 22′s chorus that she would like to invite them to perform on February 27 at the 83rd annual Academy Awards, which she’s co-hosting with James Franco.

The elated kids began jumping up and down and screaming with delight.

After they eventually regained their composure, the kids treated Hathaway to a rousing rendition of “Jingle Bells.”
