Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts Feud Story NOT True
In this week’s issue of OK!, it’s alleged Hathaway and Roberts are “burying the hatchet” after years of beef. The magazine writes, “When Anne Hathaway was discovered by Princess Diaries director Garry Marshall, she was touted by some as his next ‘Pretty Woman,’ which surely irritated his prior protégé, Julia Roberts, to no end.” The piece goes on, “The bad feelings were said to be cemented when both worked on Marshall’s 2010 rom-com Valentine’s Day.”
“But now that their mutual mentor has died,” continues the tabloid, “relations between the two stars are warming, as both plan to honor him with speeches at this year’s awards ceremonies.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “They’ve been sharing memories of Garry. It’s bittersweet, but his death put things in perspective for them.”
OK! has a lot of nerve writing about having “perspective.” The outlet just used the death of a revered filmmaker as the basis of a false story. The magazine first wrongly claimed Hathaway and Roberts were “enemies” in a story published more than a year ago.
At the time, spokespeople for both actresses independently confirmed to Gossip Cop the allegations were untrue. Now asked about this new story, a rep for Hathaway exclusively tells us, “There was never ever a feud. In fact, Annie is a super fan of Julia Roberts, so this makes no sense whatsoever.” We’re not surprised, since the tabloid also wrongly claimed Roberts was feuding with Jennifer Aniston last year. Not making sense is OK!’s specialty.
