Anne Hathaway Fighting Kristin Chenoweth For Dolly Parton Biopic Role?
Kristin Chenoweth and Anne Hathaway are not fighting over who will play Dolly Parton in a supposed upcoming movie about her life, despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “absurd.”
According to Star, Chenoweth and Hathaway are “workin’ nine to five to win the lead role.” In a totally made-up quote that bizarrely includes Chenoweth’s age, a fake source for the tabloid says, “Dolly gets to choose who plays her, and she’s shocked at how hard Kristin, 47, and Anne are campaigning.” The magazine’s phony source goes on to note that the 14 years younger Hathaway “told Dolly she’s a better fit because of her younger age, and she also believes she’s a stronger singer.”
The tabloid further alleges that both Chenoweth and Hathaway “have been bombarding Dolly with flowers and phone calls to win her over but her decision is still up in the air.” The magazine’s touted “insider” also adds such non-insider information as “Anne is an Oscar winner, but Kristin looks more like Dolly.”
First off, as far as Gossip Cop can tell, there’s no Parton movie in the works. On the small screen, NBC aired in December “Coat of Many Colors,” the first of its three-series of specials about Parton’s childhood. The next special is titled after her song “Jolene,” and the third special will be “The Seeker.” In any event, Hathaway is most assuredly not fighting with Chenoweth over a so-called “Dolly Parton biopic.” Hathaway’s rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop the Star story is “absurd.”
