AnnaLynne McCord’s I Choose: Watch Her Short Film About Sex + Human Trafficking
AnnaLynne McCord released I Choose on Wednesday, a short film described as being about “human trafficking laced with sexual liberalism and female empowerment.”
The actress, who recently revealed she was raped several years ago, wrote, directed and produced the project, and also stars in it with real-life boyfriend Dominic Purcell.
The silent, 10-minute, black-and-white movie illustrates the difference between women who choose sexual adventures — and those who are forced into them against their will.
In the closing credits, McCord says the film wouldn’t have been possible without Purcell, whom she calls the “love of my life,” and notes it was inspired by “the personal stories of the resilient survivors of the Cambodian sex trade.”
The piece also marks the former “90210” star’s directorial debut.
McCord started the “I Choose” campaign to increase awareness about free will, and to raise funds for Lotus House, a 5-story home she’s building for Cambodian sex slave survivors who are in search of a “new beginning.”
