Despite promising to not “talk about this case ever again,” the judge who presided over the 2007 battle for Anna Nicole Smith‘s remains believes authorities should start a new investigation into the star’s death.
In “The Killing of Anna Nicole Smith,” which will hit bookstores tomorrow, Larry Seidlin says he thinks Smith was the victim of manslaughter.
And the judge takes issue with Howard K. Stern, Smith’s lawyer and lover, deeming him an “enabler” who “should be punished.”
“How about keeping her off drugs while she was alive?” Seidlin writes. “He was with her every day; how about saying no, and if she kicks your ass out, then goodbye and good luck.”
Seidlin adds that Stern had “a great amount of control over Anna Nicole by maintaining and reviewing her drug desires and addiction,” and notes that Stern was also around during the death of Smith’s son, Daniel, just five months prior.
Seidlin feels the cases of both Smith’s and her son’s deaths should be reopened.
The former judge also expresses regret over his own ruling that Smith be buried in the Bahamas with her son. He now supports Smith’s estranged mother, Virgie Arthur, who had wanted her daughter buried in her home state of Texas.
“Her soul and Danny’s soul need to be placed on sacred ground in the Lone Star state,” Seidlin writes, “with people who grew up with her and loved her in her simpler days.”
Do you think Smith’s death should be investigated again?
