Anna Kendrick: I Haven’t Been Hit On In Five Years
Anna Kendrick covers the July issue of Elle, and the star opens up about her sex appeal and how she feels about her parents’ divorce.
The actress says that she doesn’t get by on her looks, claiming “honest to god” nobody has hit on her since the release of Up in the Air in 2009. This lack of attention actually allows Kendrick to feel secure in her talent, as she has “never felt like I’ve exactly traded on my looks.”
Kendrick, who calls herself an “ultralate bloomer,” remembers her mom telling her that “it was a blessing, because it means you never have to wonder if guys are only interested in you because you’ve got boobs.” But, the Pitch Perfect star jokes, “I would have been thrilled if guys were interested in me because of my boobs!”
Now, Kendrick calls herself “lucky” because “I’ve never had a crisis about whether the only reason I’m successful is because I’m crazy hot. It’s not something that crosses my mind.” She also opens up about her parents’ decision to divorce when she was 15.
“I hate when people think you’re broken because your parents are divorced. And I really reject the idea of staying together for the kids,” shares Kendrick. The actress adds, “If they’re growing up in a house that’s not healthy, it’s better to know that’s not the model of what marriage should be.”
