The Voice Results: Who Was Instantly Saved and Who Was Eliminated?
“The Voice” is down to the Top 8 for season 7! On Tuesday’s live results show, two contestants were cut and one received redemption at the last minute thanks to the Instant Save.
Monday’s episode featured the 10 remaining artists all performing live, covering songs ranging from hits like “Fix You” by Coldplay to old favorites such as Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” There was even some special mentoring from the likes of record label mogul Clive Davis and Christina Aguilera, who will return as a coach next year.
With the viewers’ votes on all the performances tabulated, host Carson Daly revealed on Tuesday’s show which singers were safe until three remained in jeopardy. Those contenders — Anita Antoinette (Team Gwen), Reagan James (Team Blake), and Ryan Sill (Team Gwen) — all had a chance to compete for the Instant Save by performing one more time before America took to Twitter to vote live for whom they wanted to survive another week.
Unfortunately for Stefani, she was guaranteed to lose at least one contestant, as out of the three on the chopping block, she was coach to two of them. And even more unfortunately for Sill, this was his second time performing in the Instant Save, after winning the reprieve last week. In the end this time, Sill won again, and James and Antoinette were eliminated. But, as Gossip Cop reported last week, they and other contestants sent home this season will get a chance to re-join the competition later on as a wild card.
Here are the new team standings for the Top 8: Adam Levine still has all three contestants, Matt McAndrew, Damien, and Chris Jamison. Pharrell has DaNica Shirey and Luke Wade. Stefani has Taylor John Williams and Sill. And now Shelton has just Craig Wayne Boyd, making him the first coach this season to be left with only one artist. What do you think of tonight’s results?
